I'm trying to plan ahead for my 88th winter in Indiana.  I already have four steel wheels and Blizzak tires for the Mazda Six.

This year, I took another step ahead, pardon the pun.  I've ordered a pair of boots with the new Vibram "Arctic Grip 'soles, supposed to not slip much on wet ice.  I've also went state of the art and ordered a multiple layered carbon fiber cane to help in walking on snow, ice etc, when the cold turns my legs into a shadow of their former selves.

I do have shoe chains for my shoes but taking them off requires sitting in a chair. Hard to do in some circumstances. As we age, we find that the laws of gravity not only work very well on motorcycles when we forget the kickstand but they also work very well in conjunction with a loss of balance and stiff knees.

I do ok but extra insurance is always good.  The fancy carbon fiber cane is a far cry from the 'medical' four legged canes and it will give me sort of a attitude close to Fred Astaire but without the top hat, tails, and dancing shoes.  I could've opted for flames on the cane (rhymes) but a more conservative approach was warranted. cooldude

Anything for the Sigs for Christmas?
I see that Freedom Munitions has quite the sale going BTW so you can treat them to some ammo under the tree!

I'm all set with 1,000 rounds of Fiocchi 165 hp's from Lucky Gunner.  Between the Sigs and the Hipoint carbines, that will help for awhile.  I'm satisfied with Lucky Gunner prices.

got as well very nice blizzaks on suv and car both just FWD with crappy Kumho solus summer radial tires that are junk in the snow, MINUS the cane and grip for shoes not needed yet.

I figure if bad enough to not go walking outside with basic shoes/boots on,  just stay inside the house then.

Will probably put up the cycle and scooter tomorrow since normally put up by now even if going to be 48 out one last time tomorrow.  Heck,  I even mowed the grass today AFTER thanksgiving no less.  Besides,  going to rain after tomorrow as well.  Sooner rather than later has to be in the 30s for highs right vs. mid 40s???????????????
