BEAUTIFUL afternoon (temps in the 60's / low 70's), so I just HAD to take advantage of it. Did about 40 miles to help drain the tank down, put some fuel conditioner / stabilizer in , then did my first ever fill up (on this bike) of "pure gas" (no ethanol - 90 octane). on the 8 miles home from the gas station, bike seemed to like it. parked the bike in the shed since we're going out of town and put it on the battery tender (best thing ever to keep bike batteries alive for more than 1-3 seasons). If I get some nice warm days in the next 3 months, I may have to get it out again. I'm not too crazy about riding in lower 40's and colder anymore, besides, my car is cheaper to drive to work and has weather protection (2000 VW New Beetle with diesel engine - gets 45-48 MPG in the winter when I'm not using the airconditioner).

No rides for the past 2 weeks here in northern Ill. but no real snow either soooooo if we get another sunny Sat, or Sun, with 45+ degrees I may pull the cover off, fire her up and cruise on down to the local water hole to see if anyone else is crazy like me...... Ya may do that.

It's been 60s here in the daytime, 30s at night. I work straight weekend nights, get 4 nights/days a week off. Unless it's raining, or I need to do some shopping, the car gets parked for those 4 nights/days.

Guess I was one of those who fail to click on ride reports yesterday

Altho yours was brief and had no pics I thank you for posting the report

We need more members doing that especially as the weather turns to crap

It stopped raining and it is now above freezing but the roads are still pretty slick from all the leaves

Maybe tomorrow one of the bikes will call to me and I will heed
the siren cry of the road, or not, all those shoppers make me nervous

well today and tomorrow 48 out and ready to ride southern WI and northern IL?

Too bad I had to change oil on both cars today past due over 5000 miles on each of them needed to get done before it gets too cold.  I even mowed my yard even unheard of near end of November grass still growing, needed one last trimming to also suck up all the leaves that finally fell down.

tomorrow looks like last nice day above 45 degrees but also have to change oil on cycle and scooter and clean them up before winter so looks like riding season is finally done never have ridden in December nor even after Thanksgiving ever until this year I could have being this weekend if did not have other stuff to get done before below freezing temps in another week or so...  Cry

that will be am sure in less than 2-3 weeks from now.  Snow is coming after all one of these weeks, well maybe????? Roll Eyes

Also got snow tires on both the FWD car and SUV, just in case it might snow and eventually get cold?  Roll Eyes
