I'm looking to re-do my bike. Nothing mechanical except maybe pipes and jetting to match. I want to bob the fender, single seater, hot rod pipes, paint job, etc. My fiancee ain't gonna ride, but doesn't mind my riding and I like that stripped down look. Anyone have any opinions on tailight relocation and signals???

Here's mine, but if you google "valk bobber"  "bobber valk"  you will see all kinds. I am planning on doing a hugger rear fender and probably a cut front or VTX. I have not been in a real big hurry because we get so little rain here in Mesa AZ
No fenders, made the pillion a primary seat, stock headers with Flowmaster 4" turndowns.
205/55-16 and 170/60-17 up front

Might get more response from the VRCC Facebook page.

I do a hot rod mod. Just take off as many things as you possibly can including the rear fender. You will have to fab a bracket for the brake light, license plate and turn signals.

Of course a hot exhaust and meaty tire help too.

Not bad, I don't want to go that short on the fender though, I want it to go out to at least the end of the strut, and of course, a Fat Exhaust.

Roidfingers

You can remove the chrome struts and buy a used front half of rear fender. As you can see. And everything mounts up to original position. I hadn't cut the rear fender in the pic to what it is now. The brake/tail/ license plate light was cheap online.

Hey RDKLL.  I like your bike :cooldude:

Some ?

Where did you get the bars and did you have to swap out any cables or wires?  Looks like throttle cables are different.

How's the exhaust drone?

Are the shocks 11.5?

Looking good.

phideux

I have the same T-Bars on my Harley, don't know what I want bar wise on the Valk yet, I'm gonna start at the back and work my way forward.
On the exhaust, from what I read I want a 4" OD pipe to slip over the Valkyrie exhaust??? On your two bikes, it looks like you have a 4" inlet to a stepped up outlet, Right?? I know on Roids bike there are no baffles, how about RDKLL, are they just open pipes on yours??? I was thinking about leaving the first set of baffles in, cutting the pipes at the end of the first baffles and sliding the truck stack over it. Am I on the right track??? Or just lop off all the baffles??? I was thinking maybe straight 4" with a kick out, somewhere around the length of your 2 guys bikes, or at least long enough to hide the first set of baffles.

I'll have to measure the spacing on the uprights of the T-Bars on my FatBoy, see if the bolts line up on the Fat-Girl, if so I might have to swap them out for a test drive. I put the 10" on the Fat-Boy without having to get into new cables and wiring, anyone know how much you can stretch up on the Fat-Girl before you have to start changing cables and stuff???

Roidfingers

Start by trying to cut the first baffles out first, That way you have another option. Mine is a 4" to 5" cutout. 15 inches long. Normally a truck stack. Think they were 28 a piece. But I wanted chrome.  ;D

Roidfingers

BTW, I got a lot of help from DKsider.

Hey DKSIDER, I have some drag bars like yours, but haven't installed yet. Whats the rise on yours and will stock cables fit?

In the picture my handlebars are completely stock. But I did recently add the 1" GenMar extensions. My last 2500 mile ride  got to my shoulders.

If I was doing a bobber style, it would look like this one.

RDKLL

Mine are stock cables, actually a couple of inches over stock because I had risers, so they are a little bit longer than necessary.
I have the stockers cut off and 4" flowmaster turn downs'

You have to use a third party web site to post pics here.

All I can hope for, is that you are not butchering a perfectly fine Valkyrie. It is YOUR'S, and you can do with it what you wish.......

A project like this needs a "salvage" donor though!!  I have run into this with early Buell S1's.  Guys are turning them into choppers and stuff!!       :'(

But that can only increase the value of the  "pristine" ones I suppose.......but hate to see nice bikes all chopped up, unless one is starting with "bare bones" to start with......... :(

With the prices I have seen and the apparently awesome condition some of them have been in, I believe it will be a very long time before "pristine" ones will be getting big money...
...bobber away my friend.

I will add that I am very glad I never chopped the  frame extensions off of mine because I was able to go back to 2-up capable in a Sunday afternoon

Cut my front fender down last week, gonna cut down the back this week, now it's time to think about paint. Also thinking about handlebars, I'm thinking some tall T-Bars maybe. Also some running lights and turn signals. I'll get some pics up this week.
