got somewhat of a ride in. All weekend it was SPOSED to be high 50s low 60s and it NEVER got out of the 30s and very humid=COLD. Well today was the test of my portable concentrator. More accurately the test of the back pack I purchased for the portable concentrator. The concentrator passed-the back pack failed. Concentrator she no can breathe in the back pack. I am at 2 liters a minute on the supplemental oxygen and now may construct a container or purchase one and modify for my use. Can NOT stress Enough how much I do NOT desire to quit riding yet. That 13 miles I got today helped somewhat BUT I want MORE! Once I figure out the HOW of carrying my O2 supply then I'll wire it into the Phatt Ghurls 12 volt system. The batteries alone are only good for about 6 hours or so that come with the concentrator. My Oxygen supply guy informs me the 12 volt system WILL operate it. Tests in my cage confirm the validity of his statement. My O2 guy has a backpack but after today backpack(s) are NOT an option. Looks like a road tip to Harbor Freight soon! RIDE SAFE.

Dennis, glad you were able to get out for a short one, sort of a test ride of the system as well. Hope you get it all worked out, I sure wouldn't want to have to give up riding just yet. Remember two years ago at InZane in Asheville....had some major pain from the hip and a heap of bursitis. Well, this Wednesday(tomorrow) I show up at the hospital by 8:30am, by this time tomorrow I'll be sporting a new piece of suspension....new ball joint suspension on the right side. I guess my model didn't come with a lifetime warranty on those parts. Lately it's been barking and biting really hard so I'm ready, nervous....but ready for it to be over with. Lousy timing, there's some activities this weekend I'd love to attend at the Lakeland airport. Plus next weekend our bunch is having a end of the year picnic in the Ocala Nat'l. Forest. I won't be able to attend either of them and the weather is great this time of year. Oh well, at least I'll be able to ride in comfort shortly thereafter.

Would it be possible to put a cradle in the trunk to hold the concentrator? I seem to remember you have an IS. I do not know if the concentrator has to be in a certain position to operate.

I was going to suggest the saddlebag as it may be a shorter run to battery and your jacket
Hope you figure it out

If I were there, Dennis, I'd give you a hand. Backpack too confining, lots of strong mesh stuff out there that could breathe adequately. Want to see you in MT next June! John, good luck, sorry for the temporary setback, but I know that you will be back, up, and out and about before you know it. We can solve this stuff!

How about the backpack secured in the back seat of your IS by wrapping a loop around the tab below & behind the cushion that holds the bolt that secures the rear cushion to the trunk and pass the backpack strap thru this loop?
I think this could be secure enough. If not, a top strap could be ran from the top of the backpack to the rack on the trunk lid.

Nah Dennis, you need to go for the gusto!!! Haul the whole O2 bottle with you like this...... I'm glad to hear you are getting better and are needing to ride as much as you can. Maybe BonS or one of our other inventor types here will come up with a solution that they can package and sell. As more and more of us get older and desire to ride, these types of solutions will be worthwhile. Let's keep people up, agile and moving! A whole lot better than Gov't mandate healthcare......

Concentrator she no can breathe in the back pack.
A backpack or bike mounted pack could be fabricated from pet proof fiberglass screen. That would let enough air to the concentrator. CB and I made a catch bag for my wood chipper from that stuff and it works quite well. I even drag that bag across the yard with my tractor. So I can assure you it would be durable enough material. CB has sewn everything from awnings to boots to sports clothing. If we can be of any help to you, just let me know. I think the idea of a trunk mount might be the best because that way it could have some shielding from rain. Just throwing out the idea of a custom screened bag because I know it is doable. Hope to see you on the road again.

First off to my Friend John down in Fla. Hope and PRAY the surgery went well and you git out and abut soonest. I thought-briefly-of the saddle bag(s) or the trunk BUT-but near bout as bad as IF-rather have everything E Z too change back to stock. What I'm considering is either an ammo can-Very Durable-of the CLOSE to proper size or one of those aluminum briefcase tool boxes that H/F sells. The 12 volt power cord for the concentrator has a box in the middle about the size of two cigarette packs stuck end to end and a bit thicker and quite heavy. Also the o2 out tube that supplies the cannula. Before I started using my trailer on road trips my "gear" was strapped to the passenger seat and That is where I plan on putting the concentrator and it's carrying device. If i lay this out right I can get by with a 7 foot o2 hose/cannula combination. Found out yesterday my 3/4 helmet likes to strip the over the ear hose off when putting helmet on! Gonna have to check and see WHAT my full face does to those hoses! Rather NOT modify or cut up the bags or the trunk. Tween da prez and myself we WILL come up with something. My brother IS one heck of a fine fabricator. Lotsa his work is already on my Phatt Ghurl. And Thanks for ALL the encouragement here from my Friends on this Fantastical board of ours! RIDE SAFE.

Found an ammo can today that I will modify for my concentrator. Only a Jackson out the door! Will even have room for that "box" that's in the power cord. Good timing as the weather is headed fer Delta Sierra. Soon as I'm able to run the test I'll update. AGAIN-Thanks for all the well wishes and the Positive reinforcement! RIDE SAFE.
