Pelosi re elected as minority leader again. Given her "leadership" recently, as guess that's a good thing. I think maybe she really is the image of the future of the democratic party.

Under her leadership and Mr. O also this party has been decimated.  Keep the fun and games and face tucks rolling.
That Ryan guy from Youngstown talked some real sense.  Hard for him to get through to the senseless.  May be a guy to watch in the future.

Meanwhile under real leadership, Donald is not even in office yet and he has struck a deal with Carrier of Indianapolis to save 1000 jobs from going to Mexico.  Last weekend a coal company, maybe in WV, announced they would start operations again bringing in 400 miners.   Even Apple is looking into manufacturing in the US again.  There will be more, many more and optimism for business is exploding.  Mr. O you may just as well go on vacation until you time is up.  We have a new Sheriff.

Excellent news, I was pulling for her.  This guarantees more Republicans elected in the mid term elections.

Looks like the Democratic party has been permanently captured by the Far Left.

I just noted that Internationally, the political arena is trending toward the Populist Right.

Be careful with your predictions of a decimated Democrat party.  The election certainly went against the status quo but it was very, very close.

The tide is still being turned by a very small (relatively) group of voters in the middle.  As such it could go any way next time around.

For me I am talking about the whole including governors 34, state houses - something like 2/3 and of course congress ( 69 seats have fallen during her reign ) and the Senate flipped pretty good in 2014.
Make good use of it Republicans and do not squander the opportunity you had 10-15 years ago.a  Indeed glory can be fading and but right quick.

I think the mid term elections won't really be determined by what Pelosi and the Democrats do. But by how effective Trump and the Republicans are.

Did anyone see how close the vote was?  Ryan seemed fairly sensible, a rare bird in his party these days.

It's her swan song.  She'll be leaving in 2018 when California secedes to become it's 1st President.

134 to 63 doesn't seem that close to me.

I thought the Civil War established that NO STATE can secede from the union ?

But yes - I agree with meathead - if the Dems don't get off their collective backsides, they are going to continue to fade out to obscurity. They need to reach out , in both words AND actions, to attract more of the voters that supported Trump.

I guess my wording was a bit ambiguous.  I hadn't seen the count yet and was asking if anyone had.  That's not close at all.

It looks like the dems are doubling down.  I wonder if a few of their moderates in congress might switch parties.  Seems like that might be possible in the rust belt where Trump's policies appealed to a lot of their voters.

What we know is that 134 representatives know which side their bread is buttered. 63 said we need to try a different path no matter the cost. In that sense it was surprisingly close.
