As you might know, I've got a set of I/S Saddlebags and the Trunk. They are the two-tone Green
out of the 99 I/S. They would go on my Black Standard. Cool

The right Saddlebag has some road scrapes but not too bad. It also needs the right speaker pod,
which I need to purchase. BTW, anyone out there has one for sale? ???

What do you think I should expect to pay for the job of fixing
and painting the three pieces in Black?   coolsmiley

Had a local shoot my Champion saddlebags that were new and in primer. They came out excellent in black for my 1800c. $300 -- i took care of all hardware off and back on so i handed them four parts.

call around to all local auto body shop repair places to find the best price.  Not sure though they will honor their workmanship for life though as most auto body repair shops do for autos with insurance claims.

Just a guess, 200-300 bucks?  Say 80 bucks per hour labor for 3 hours labor tops or so, plus supplies.

It amazed me the one time I had to get work done at an auto body shop,  all 3 local ones using same software came up 200-300 bucks difference while one in larger city of Madison was crazy insane high in price since bigger/fancier city am sure.

I would like to add that I had them use Sherwin Williams catalyzed paint.

I just paid $200 for a two tone paint job on one of my I/S saddlebags. I would expect a single paint  scheme would be a bit less. If matching the Valk paint go to ColorRite.com but be prepared for sticker shock. Of coarse the person painting the bags needs to be vented a good patch & paint with a lousy painter =  Cry

FYI , I am getting on my podium again. The repairs to the OEM bags should be done with black plastic ABS glue. Bondo will stick until the paint job is done. JB weld is to hard to work with . If there are any seams , clean out with a cut-off hacksaw blade to remove dirt and wax. I fill the seams with ABS cement and sand down. Do it slow , and it will last as long an the bags will. You can build it up.
Make sure the painter knows the bags are ABS so the right primer is used. Scuff marks on the bags can be repaired with ABS. Coat and let dry. Sand and fill until you get the thickness you need.
I also use ABS cleaner on the inside seams and re-glue them. You are working on the bags , why take a chance on a hidden crack.
