I like the idea that he is gathering up friend and foe alike. Dividers are not as large as life and are unable or in the case of the Press, unwilling to make that leap...they are bound to the continued quest for altered restroom door labels while the rest of us move on.

I usually catch Dennis Millers 5 minutes every Wednesday.  This was a good one indeed.  I do not think it is kissing the ring however.  He is deeply interested in getting people involved that can and  may have good ideas and can help, just my take - he has always been this way in his building business.

Did anyone catch yesterday when he had Jim Brown, Ray Lewis and the Pastor ( forget his name ) up to talk about the inner cities.  Jim Brown was interviewed last night and today all over the press and had many good things to say about Trump.  Jim Brown has been active for decades in the ghettos and has done many great things but he is only one man. He genuinely believes Trump will buy into his solutions and programs.   On one of the left sites they said but Trump is not putting Blacks into his cabinet - you know the type fanning the flames.  Or course if you are a righty like Dr. Ben Carson then you just can't be a legitimate black person.  Anyway Jim told the hack that the 3 most important people in his early life where white and basically it matters not where the help comes from but that it just comes and Trump will be that person.

Pastor Darrel Scott is his name, who by the way, has been helping bridge the 'race divide' beside Trump for some time now...If Trump really does succeed in building the bridge across that divide, the Dems really will be on the outside looking in for some time. You can bet they will do anything to stop Trump from making that happen. Having Jim Brown on side will be huge.
The left will continue to underestimate Trump at their peril...it is the arrogant nature of who they are.

Indeed Darrel Scott. Very good man.  I have heard him interviewed a number of times and had a brain lock up while penning.   Hopefully he can build a huge following because the  Reverends of hate and victimization have failed miserably.  A new course has to be achieved or the problems will always continue.

You have to wonder why Obama didn't reach out to people like Jim Brown? Or maybe he did and Jim Brown ( or others like him ) did not want to associate themselves with him.

I certainly see a lot of divisive narrative coming from him...he is part of the Al Sharpton "black lives matter" problem and I don't see him helping Trump in any way...Trump is Larger Than him and he knows it.
The Liberal Press and the Entrenched Liberal Universities are just as divisive... pushing race bating garbage like "White Privilege"
It is no different here in Canada with the Press and Liberal Institutional Education.
Big Government does not want people to think for themselves.

I think the point is Trump sent for him, not Al Sharpton. Don't expect to see Sharpton at Trump tower anytime soon. Plus I don't see this as a race problem, get away from the big cities and you see a large white population that are surviving in public housing and other assistance same as the black population. If the government concentrates it's efforts on a race or color, it is being prejudiced itself. Hungy, poorly housed, under-educated kids need help no matter their skin color.

If Obama would have had a  man with Jim Brown's record of assault and domestic violence to the Whitehouse, there would have been an uproar so loud we would all need hearing aids.

For Sure I agree...It never was a race problem during Obama's administration...it is a Democratic Party Narrative Problem fed by race baters like Sharpton and the Liberal Press is right there with them. White House visitor logs reveal over 100 visits by Al Sharpton.
AND...The main stream media dog and pony show will just carry on as usual.

Who is this fellow, and what makes him a good man?  All I can find is a very complimentary bio on his church's web site that says nothing about his education or religious affiliations, but describes him thus:

Already a 21st Century Theologian and Scholar in his own right, Dr. Darrell went on to receive his Doctorate of Divinity in November of 2004. His astute wisdom of religious and biblical studies not only qualifies him as a 21st Century Theologian but also serves to further amplify the fact that he is a gifted and anointed teacher and preacher of God's Word.  His godly interpretation and knowledge of the Bible proclaims a message of hope, deliverance, salvation, and restoration. Dr. Scott's astounding and noteworthy work ethic and business acumen has doubtlessly contributed to the over twenty-two years of success of New Spirit Revival Center and also sets him apart from his contemporaries.

He forgot to mention his astounding humility, his epiphanous published scholarly work, and the throngs of well-respected religious leaders and fellow theologians lining up to fawningly endorse him and his ministry.

I get it...you don't like Black Pastors who Endorse Trump. I am guessing you don't like Trump or maybe you just don't like religion mixed with politics...and that's all just fine by me...You are entitled to that opinion..but..there is nothing of substance in your snide comments. Yesterday I chose to say nothing when I posted that link... but if you actually have something constructive to add, or a burning bush type of epiphany bring it on, I would like to hear it. Here is an extremely abbreviated list of accomplished black people who have, to put it in your snide terms,  "Fawned" over Trump:
Jim Brown, Ray Louis, Ice Cube, Mason Weaver, Don King, 50 Cent, Sean Diddy Jones, Omarosa, Stephen A Smith....If anyone else wants to chime in with names to add to the list, I am all ears...Thanks.

Well said. I think Libs will do all they can to keep hate and racism alive since they have no voter base without it. My hope and belief is that they will be unsuccessful and their continued efforts to undermine the healing of America will be obvious enough to cost them the support of those they have despised and held down for decades.

That video was of Scott fawning over Trump, not telling me anything about Scott.  Or is Scott a "very good man" because he supports Trump?

Or is Darrell Scott a very good man because he is not Al Sharpton?  Ding! ding! ding! winner winner chicken dinner right there! Cheesy

Yep...bingo...
It was the snide tone of the comments that rubbed the wrong way.
To Meathead... it was you're simplistic reply that "didn't get it".

One can only hope that Responsible Black Community Leaders step up in large enough numbers to give sway to these troubled inner city neighborhoods.
Donald Trump can only be a facilitator...these communities have to heal themselves. Sadly the reigning "Community Organizer" came up short.

That video was of Scott fawning over Trump, not telling me anything about Scott.  Or is Scott a "very good man" because he supports Trump?

I don't have a hatred for Trump.  I hope he does well as President.  I just wish America would have had a person without glaring character flaws to vote for.  The ideal candidate for political leadership in any arena, has the four big "C"s, the first three being most important to me:  Character, Competence, Conservative values (socially and fiscally), and Charisma (enough to get elected and lead his governing team).

When someone is courting the endorsement of others to vouch for his character and ability, it is important that a potential endorser has a solid reputation for good judgement, and that he is familiar with the person being endorsed.  In the case of Dr. Darrell Scott, the only information about him I had, was that Alpha Dog called Scott a "very good man", and that you called him a "genuine" man.  The two of you seem to place a high value on Scott's endorsement.

I was completely unaware of the man until I read this thread, as I get the vast majority of my news from Canadian sources.  From what I can gather, he is a pastor with a local (rather than national) presence, until the Trump campaign.

For me, the assessment of a man is about his character, i.e. his actions, rather than his level of popularity.  His words are important only so far as they are consistent with his character.

The only information I could find about the man was his (likely self-written, but at least approved by him) bio.  The effusive adjectives in his bio characterize narcissism rather than the humility God requires of His followers, and especially those in leadership.

Micah 6:8 (ESV) - He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

My comments on Scott have absolutely nothing to do with his race, but have everything to do with the value of his endorsement.  Of the nine accomplished black people you list, only three of their names are familiar to me, and from what I know about those three, their endorsement has no influence on me.  This is because their character or area of expertise do not make them authorities on the qualifications of political candidates, not because of their race.

A wise Christian leader is involved in politics to the degree that he influences public policy in the promotion of justice and appropriate mercy.  He has to be very careful of closely associating himself with politicians, as it can have an impact on his reputation when the politician fails morally.  Billy Graham now regrets his involvement in politics, and felt he was made a fool of by Nixon.

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/rogereolson/2016/10/reflections-about-billy-graham/ (see the comments section)

So I ask again, what makes Scott a "very good" or "genuine" man, whose opinion I should value?

No one here can guess exactly what will satisfy what you are looking for so do the leg work yourself, like many others here do every day. If he comes up short  so be it, or if you agree that he is a good man then everybody is in tune with earlier comments. And Re: Trump...how is wishing for someone better going to make a difference now...he is who he is and that is that, and in my estimation, a hell of a lot better than the Entrenched Clinton Machine.

Can't you see, I've done some leg work.  I've only found what I've said I've found.  The is very little out there.  That's my whole point.
YOU've endorsed Scott, it seems, based solely on HIS endorsement of Trump, and possibly because he's a non-liberal black.  Do you have other reasons for YOUR endorsement of Scott?  Or is that too much to ask?

Wow ! You were asked a very simple question. To explain your reason or reasons for making the statements that you did. And that is what you put forth ? You have just insulted someone who has been nothing but respectful towards you.

I'm going to lock this thread but before I do I'm going to give you all fair warning.  I am getting really weary of dealing with message board conversations in which someone (or someones) cannot seem to carry on a discussion without belittling or ridiculing another participant of the board.  Those are called personal attacks and they are not allowed.

For the record that includes referring to a group of board posters with the comment "You people are ..."

Respectful conversation is acceptable.  If you can't say it respectfully don't say it.
