They made these bikes for import to the US in 1994-1995. Great looking bike and seems they have quite a following. Anyone in here ever own one? Guess they had the nickname "The Big One" for some reason.

Looks like another victim of Honda's decision to focus on cruisers. Looked like was a pretty cool standard...

They made these up until 2014.  There is a forum dedicated to this bike that I used to hang around in with an interest in buying one, until I bought the Valk.

Are you talking about the inline six cylinder 1000? That was a CBX 1000 Honda's first six cylinder. A rocketship in 1978! Think they had them here for about four years, one of those Hang-on Bikes!

There are tons of 2014 for sale on Cycletrader.com..

http://www.cycletrader.com/Honda-Cb1000-1100-Motorcycle-For-Sale---CycleTrader.Com----CycleTrader.com/search-results?make=Honda%7C2316874&model=Cb1000%7C764948833&trim=1100%7C3878&sort=featured%3Aasc&radius=150&

I remember reading that they are very dependable, fast but not scary fast (like the Valk), good handling, but not crotch rocket great, and an all around excellent standard bike.  2014 can be had for about $10 grand.  I guess with the cruiser craze and the success of the Shadow, Honda just hasn't seen the need to continue production.

Guys, this particular bike "The Big One" was only made in 1994-1995. It is not a CB1000R or later versions. Also nicknamed the Super Four.

I had 2 bikes before I got my 2014 Valkyrie, now that I have it set-up and accented the way I like it, about 3 months ago I went on the hunt.  I rode a CBX back in 1980, but was tooo heavy, so I got a Suzuki 850 shaft drive, no more chains for me.   I love the style and look of Hondas flat aposed engines and although a 1500 Valkyrie would have been my first choice, , didn't have that much $ so I was looking for a plain jane Gold Wing, well I found one..... a 1975 original GL1000, and it was red, my favorite color. Alittle carb work and some gaskets and now I have a pair of GREAT bikes. The GL will be my around town day ride bike, and the Valkyrie for those go fast days and longer trips out of state, or cross country. I have already got lots of comments on it, and sure to get many more after I get the valve covers, intake tubes, and the front timing belt covers powder coated red. Thats my winter project, will take pictures when it's done.......

I'm looking forward to seeing that...I have a blue/green '75 original, in a great state of disassembly...Sad Someday I'll get it all back together.....
