A great story and interesting outcome by president elect Trump. Israel appealed to Trump since Obama administration would not help. It showed the respect other nations and people have for Trump and the willingness to live up to promises. Thank you president elect Trump for doing what that POS in the office now would not do. Someone aligned with the values of the US.

Official: Israel Turned to Trump to Head Off UN Resolution

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/12/23/world/middleeast/ap-ml-israel-united-nations.html

After becoming aware that the administration would not veto the anti-Israel resolution, Israeli officials reached out to Trump's transition team to ask for the president-elect's help to avert the resolution," the Israeli official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was discussing behind-the-scenes diplomatic activity.

On Friday, Egypt said its president had received a call from Trump in which they both agreed to give the incoming U.S. administration a chance to try and resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The call came hours after Egypt indefinitely postponed the U.N. vote.

A statement from the Egyptian presidency said the two men spoke by phone early Friday and agreed on "the importance of giving a chance for the new American administration to deal in a comprehensive way with the different aspects of the Palestinian issue with the aim of achieving a comprehensive and a final resolution."

I don't remember any president elect doing as much prior to inauguration then Mr Trump. He appears to be a quick starter.

That's a fact.  Then Boeing came out and said they are going to reduce the price of AF1 and 2.  Make no mistake this is all about putting Defense contractors on notice that 500 dollar hammers are a thing of the past and all contracts are going to be scrutinized to a fine point. This guy is committed to getting things done and but right quick.   What is the other guy doing.  Oh yeah.  He went over his naughty and nice list, then hit the links for a couple of weeks.

He's got 8 years of Obama's "put America last" policy to overcome and he appears to be chomping at the bit to get it done!  cooldude

Well, see, at least something positive for you came from this election.  But, you were snoozing instead of buying.   Roll Eyes

This sad excuse for a man, who was foisted on an unsuspecting public, made to feel guilty for the sins of their fathers fathers fathers fathers, totally unqualified for the position and a believer in and devoted to a worldview that dictates the systematic destruction of the greatest nation in the history of man, will be remembered as one of two things. The man who presided over the demise of the U.S.A. and western civilization, or the worst president ever elected.

Could it be that the time for UN is past    We pay into it millions and get nothing
but corruption and lies, and NYC absorbs millions in lost tax and fine revenue because anyone with DPL plates can do whatever the hell thay want. How many hundreds of millions do we sink into it yearly?

Tthe UN never succeeded in ending the war in Korea  Its all follow the money trail Russia and China have never been on board really unless it was in their interest

Wanna see corruption, look at Unicef scandals, only those little Obama's around the world see the good

Oh yeah they could not even call it what it was, its a conflict Tell that to all our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us,

So called Sanctions are a joke as every country still does what it wants anyway. France gets to sell airbuses Russia gets to sell natural gas the arab states sell oil and our big business like Monsanto peddle  GMO's and lean on Europe China sells guns and buys gold against the day the Yuan becomes king

Seems to me the UN is owned now by the forces of islam

I bet President Trump could redevelop the UN headquarters building into a nice hotel or something once we kick 'em out...

We can only hope Trump ignores/undermines the UN the same way obama ignores/undermines Israel.

Why not! After this sorry excuse for a president almost all countries hate us now. The UN is a power players game with the inhabitants of the planet as its pawns.
