I got both bikes out for rides up toward Bear Mtn on Christmas Day

Actually saw six bikes out during that day.  Saw only one lunatic yesterday.

At the moment its 33 in Ossining NY and overcast.  I will be watching football as I believe Alabama plays 1st.

Tomorrow should break 40 degrees and mild winds  Great day for a ride !

Always try for a New Year Day ride if I can get the bike past the snow and ice in the driveway  Most years I succeed.

I have always tried to ride on New Year's Day.   If my memory serves me correctly, have only missed once.   Weather or I should say, road conditions are the determining factor.   Wind Chill/temperature I can dress for.    Depending on the road conditions, I will ride.   It may be a short ride but, the fat girl will go out for some exercise.   The Wx forecast will determine just how far I plan on riding.

I am looking at the forecast.  Low 40s here, that's ok.  70 percent rain - not so good just hope it comes late in the day.

I did get in a hundred miles on  both past Tues and Wed. as Monday rains eliminated the salt residue.  Tues was mid 30s and sunny and Wed hit low 40s and sunny ( very unusual combo for us this time of year )   I did not see one other bike, but no surprise here, they are a rarity in SW Ohio in winter.  No pics to post as scenery shots of flatlands with bare corn and soybean fields does not stimulate the optical senses, but I enjoyed having the wind on my helmet.

My best wishes for a safe and wonderful ride for any that can get out tomorrow.

Got to be home by 1 so I can do chores at Mom's house and see the Rose Bowl

Safe winds Harry  I'll probably be on the police bike cause it has the heated grips, wont be wearing any electrics as now the temp will be mid 30's

That sux.  I hope everything goes well.  Don't know how it is now, but I used to eat pretty good on road trips.  Long hours but good dinner.  We had an engine change in Boston one time and for dinner one of the guys said he wanted to eat where he could see boats bobbing in the harbor, so we drove all around and ended up in Marblehead.

I would, but as I sit here with coffee cup close by and typing, the snow is falling, temps in middle 20's.   So NO ride today   tickedoff tickedoff

Took the bmw thru the goat trail this morning
There was some ice in a few of the turns just past the army base, as sun wont hit the road till noon, if that
wind was mild, less than 20mph

didnt see any bikes today on that ride

So I took the 01 Interstate out for a nice ride for a half hour, just to keep the batteries charged.  These E3 seem to take about 5 miles or so before the tires round themselves out. If you know what it is that you are feeling its no big deal, but it is something my avons, bridgestones or metzlers never experienced.

After the tires were round again and warmed up came on route 100 which has a few nice places you can open up the throttle.
I exceeded that speed limit sign I posted yesterday then backed down as I approached the tight turn for 9A north
I did WOT from the light at North State and then totally released the throttle about 1000 ft from Chappaqua Rd

I was passed by a bmw as I slowed to for the yellow light turning red for my turn on Chappaqua Rd, clearing the snow and ice drift at the side of the road. He must have been screamin up the road to catch me  Smiley
as he ran the light (which I stopped for) but no LEO or traffic struck him   Hopefully he continues to have good luck when he makes bad decisions during 2017

Now to have some soup then get ready to head across the river to see ma with Bonnie.

I got out for a few pleasant hours today.  Low 50s nice.  The few bikes I saw were all waving back with enthusiasm.

NYC was just a bit too far.   Smiley

Got the fat lady out and was intending to ride west, conditions were better that direction.    Checked the tires and fluid levels.   She was ready.   Came in and started getting dressed for the ride.  Temp was low 40s with a high level of humidity in the air.   Figured I better dress for worst case, one never knows.

Was just about to leave and the phone rang, it was work related.   It seemed someone had to leave and they wanted to know if I could come in a fill in for the rest of the shift.    Knowing no one else would do it, I agreed to come in for four hours but, if a replacement couldn't be found by the end of that time, I'd be leaving.   Made it clear I was serious and if they didn't accept the deal, I wouldn't come in at all.   I was under no obligation to do it anyway.   They agreed.   So, my 150 mile planned ride turned into a 10 mile ride.   But, I did enjoy it.   Funny how folks seem to find a way on days with holiday pay involved to get paid and not work their full shift.    Told the boss, this was the last time I would fill in for this particular person.   Won't happen again.   BTW, the boss wasn't very happy either, he was the one who relieved me so I could go home.   A happy camper he was not.   Wink    But, I rode.   cooldude

I "rode" both my bikes today, but to call either a "ride" would be a gross exaggeration.

I like to fill the tanks and add some Stabil before winter sets in. This year I got caught up short. Today I took each bike to the gas station, filled each tank, and added Stabil. A little less than 10 miles apiece.

So yes, I rode today. Mid 40's in Indianapolis. I saw a group of three bikes ride by the house this afternoon.
