Got a good chuckle over this Wizzard.  Is that how it's done in Valpo?  A lot of that in Ohio also.

In a proper world Jim only needs his wife to stand over him and point out the problems.

See it daily,  way too many Chiefs doing absolutely NOTHING (REALLY is true) and not enough Indians doing the actual work.  I can count 100's of times when asking a superior mgr. or supervisor their opinion on something at work and they have NO clue or ideas since they have NEVER done the jobs to begin with being hired from the outside.  Then,  if they do make a suggestion,  it is an obvious NO go since they do not understand the job to begin with and how to make it work.  People 'great' in theory not able to 'apply' it making 2-4x's what the actual workers make is all around us...   uglystupid2

Except for the inevitable regulations from the Feds and INDOT, our town has cross trained all utility workers. Snow plowing, sewer work, storm drains, street patching, meter reading, leaf pickup, etc , the work gets done with no workers watching others work.

Good pay, a good boss, and no union needed.

Smaller towns work best.

reminds me, well sort of,  of the time when you could get away with this that my dad did in the 80s working at a gm union  assembly plant for 34 years at the end of his tenure telling the very heavy set African American women that would continually  not keep up with assembly on the line having to shut down the line to help her do her job.  Dad told her if she cannot keep up,  go back to the kitchen where you belong.  He got called into a 45 minute meeting with his boss stating he cannot say that even though we all know it is true being she cannot keep up holding the line up.  After done,  my dad thanked his boss for the 45 minute break ....  2funny

A very long time ago I worked in the elevator trade.  First time I checked in with the City Hall maint. dept. in Cleveland the door was locked.  After knocking for a while,  it was unlocked.  I woke up the maintenance man on duty sleeping on a full size sofa in the maint. office.....middle of the day.

......and so it goes
