Maybe I missed it, however does anyone know if GOTF is happening this year?
We unfortunately will not be able to make INZANE this year again, our daughter's wedding is right around the same time, so we figured that we could possibly make at least one ride.

Perhaps you should've bought a 2017 VRCC wall calendar.   Wink

Funny Ice,

We have a daughter's wedding and will miss Inzane for the same reason

As for GOTF, I was pretty sure Mark said last year was the final year
but with those Baker's you never know when the end truly is

GOTF is a great event put on by some of the nicest folks you will ever meet

I'm sorry.  I shouldn't have been facetious.

Mark informed us that GOTF is planned for Saturday, 01 April and we included it as one of the few gatherings noted on the 2017 VRCC wall calendar.  Arrival the day before is usually rewarding.

Evan, yeah I remember Mark saying that too, however I also remember that he stated that he may have GOTF again and thought I had seen a post but was not sure anymore.
Congratulations to you both and your daughter for the upcoming wedding.

Mark told me that before last year's GOTF he was thinking it was time to hang it up - but on the last day he said he had so much fun with the big party he was definitely going to keep it going.  We are planning on going - this year towing our popup camper on the back roads (avoiding the slab especially Dallas & Houston) and setting up in Mark's back yard.  Hope the weather cooperates - definitely can't ride if we get a lot of snow.  Last year the group ride down to Galveston and lunch in a seafood saloon was great fun and another great feed.  Plus all new to me, never been to the area.

Probably can't make Inzane this year as my family is having their big reunion opening weekend far away the weekend before.  Might be able to make the 2nd half but have to cut short the family thing.

You're welcome to ride with us if you are OK with a slower pace.  Takin the blue highways for much of the way, not riding high speed.  Hauling a trailer that weighs almost as much as the bike - even with trailer brakes still need to keep the speed down for safety.

As I remember in the past you have posted hotels for people to gather . Will you be doing so again ? I'm not sure yet, but we can it would be nice to be where most of our friends are going to be. At the risk of having them switch when they find we've booked.  Grin

Thanks, I'll try to keep my reservation on the down low. (I don't want to feel guilty for their vacancy rate)  Wink

Hotglue if we can swing it I would love to come down again

I twice had stayed at Best Western in Alvin but last year the asshole manager/owner at check in disrespected my wife and me, and I said forget it and walked back to my car

It almost got real ugly as he put his hand on my car while we was tryin to drive out of the lot.   Bonnie was ready to dial 911 and was pulling my right arm to keep me from getting out of the car.  As you know I am not a hot temper usually so....

We called Best Western and altho I am a member for years they was zero help so gave the Alvin Best Western 0 stars on trip advisor and yelp

will never stay at best western again as corporate have no customer service values, no response to any emails or Yelp

Reading the Yelp reviews are advised

Dont stay there  The only Texan I have ever met who I wanted to cause serious bodily harm but in Texas' defense, he is not from Texas but India or Pakistan or someplace near there

The Americas Best Value treated us right gave us the last room they had and I recommend them

+1 on not ever staying at that Best Western in Alvin. I'll never stay there again. The maid stole my laptop out of the room and the management was absolutely useless in trying to help me get my laptop back. It was the maids first day at work. Very questionable hiring and first day on the job protocols if you ask me.
