Dang shame.  However with the so far successful Indian Brand, and then the new Slingshot which I think is doing well, it was probably a matter of time.

I like the Vic Cross Country and tour and by most accounts they are a quite good bike.  They intend to supply parts for 10 years and Polaris is large enough to pull that off, so it may be a  good time to get a heavily discounted quality bike later this year.

Damn shame, but with Victory and Indian under the same roof, it does make sense to get rid of one of them, and Indian has the greater name recognition...

That, and the Bozo Bike didn't help Victory any, no matter how good the bike is, that silhouette was just too hard to take seriously...

Can't help but think the Bozo bike succombed to Obozo policies. Sign of the times.  You have to be a really strong company and even with excellent management and deep pockets surviving the downturn of 2008 and subsequent slow recovery some great companies couldn't survive. No doubt this painful business decision is needed for Polaris to weather market conditions and save the company. At Least Polaris is still operating but the loss of the brand is a loss for us all.  Except their competitors perhaps.

Looks like I ride ANOTHER orphan!  2funny
My 2012 Cross Country Tour is an awesome machine, superior to the "other" brand and in MANY ways.
60,000 miles of trouble free touring, no way I going to let her go now. Haven't needed replacement parts, not worried about that. I did replace the clutch last summer, but went with Barnett Heavy Duty aftermarket anyhow- half the price of stock for a better clutch.

Too bad; the Victory is a better machine than the Indian. Brand name means more than engineering excellence.

wow,  good time to get a good used one this summer am sure the value will go down somewhat even though is a really good bike to have am sure.

For those of you who have say a victory cross country tourer,  better think long and hard to NOT give it up but is good to hear for at least 10 more years that parts will be readily available, or one hopes anyways.

I would think that Victory "only" dealerships that are not in a territory conflict of interest with nearby Indian dealers would be signing dealer contracts with Polaris....makes sense for Polaris to have a good dealer coverage map.
I like the look of the Cross Country and the CC Tour, and from riding with a friend who bought a Vision, dealer maintenance and reliability are excellent...He does a lot of iron butt cross continent touring and has racked up a whack of miles on his 2012 model with never a glitch.

Appears I'm riding another classic. Vic bikes are rare as hen's teeth around these parts - as was the Valk. Soon to be rare`er yet. In three years of travels I've seen exactly three other Vic cross bikes on the road. I've yet to see one with the color scheme of mine. At age 65 it was likely to be my last bike anyway. Parts availability for ten years . . . it should work out for me. With the design features of ergos and geometry and power-train she rides and handles like a dream. She's a keeper.

We have one in Dayton also strictly Victory ( well Vespa also ) that is probably feeling way down in the dumps today, and it is a nice shop.   The nearest Indian dealer is Columbus and/or Loveland ( Cincy ).  In this greater Dayton area there are at least  six Harley dealers.  I sure hope if Polaris wants a bigger piece of the Harley Pie they would offer Indian dealerships to these Victory Folks.

Yes that Springfield is sharp.  I think the other models are also.  I tried my darnedest to buy a  scout when business took me next to an Indian Dealer in Walton, KY ( Covington suburb ).  They had a barely used 2016  red scout with shield and buckskin bags and crash bars and wanted 9500 for it.  I showed them pics of my Honda Shadow Ace tourer but they in effect offered me only 1 grand for a bike they would sell for 3.5 to 4k.   I told them I would sell it on my own and pay cash.  They sent out the brand new sales manager who apologized for the previous sales mgr. listing this scout to low and upped the price to 12.5k due to the accessories.  I said good bye although I did get test drive it.  Very nice and powerful and smooth 100 hp 550 lbs cruiser.

Serk you can ride the wife's Indian Chieftain next time you cruise thru Sunnyvale....it makes the Valkyrie seem primitive...17 year advances in engineering are just that...the classic styling and high end finish look pretty rich.....you get thumbs up quite a bit and most surprising is the number of women--way upper middle class-that will comment on it everywhere they can--and yes I'm getting the Attic's Rat upgrade this year..just to irritate the rabble at Strokers

I loved having three American motorcycle companies to choose from but I was afraid Victory would get the boot. Of the three Victory fits very tall bigger people much better than Harley or Indian.  Those bikes fit the 5 foot 8 5 foot 9 crowd and below.

Oh, there is the problem right there for me then buying an Indian::    number of women,  WAY UPPER MIDDLE CLASS.....

I cannot afford way upper middle class women, more like mid to low class...   2funny

For the heck of it,  I called a Victory dealer talking to sales guy.  He said he is very sad to see Victory go out of his Triumph/Polaris/Victory lineup especially since he only sells Victory, etc. (NON Indian) and the dealer in same town sort of nearby got the rights to sell Indian since he could not give Indian as much moola as he had to do to get the Victory lineup.  So,  that dealer will not be getting Indian once Victory goes away in his lineup since in same town.   Cry

He said it boils down to how much moola the dealership upfronts to sell Indian brand cycles and he did not have that kind of dough to shell out to get Indian at the time having Victory forever.   He says, in his eyes, dollar for dollar/apples to apples, that the Victory lineup is hands down just as good and in many ways superior to both HD and even Indian in terms of price and reliability and best bang for your buck in the v-twin lineup.  I would, not knowing much, have to agree.

He also told me to HOLD OFF on buying for now a Victory since he is guessing some very NICE big rebates from Victory will be offered this summer to sell them off.  Just my guess, but say a 22K msrp Victory cross country tourer fully loaded could maybe get new for 15-16K??  coolsmiley
