I was poking around on the web and this caught my eye.  It looks like BMW is taking aim at the F6b.

I can see the comparison although I don't understand it.   Nice looking bike but I really don't see why BMW would go after such a small market based on the F6b sales.   Mother Honda seems to have it's stuff together generally speaking.

While I do believe the F6b would have had better sales with a retro look, it's a great bike and superior to our own Valkyries in performance and handling.   Doesn't make sense to me that BMW would compete in an arena that is apparently declining.   Undecided

Ive had the opportunity to ride a 1600

Wow is pretty good, to me it was as inspiring as the rocket 3 on takeoff and now with the trunk gone its better than before

Not in the budget but would consider when its time to retire the 04 police bike in 3 or 4 years

Lot of money, but a great looking bike. Would love to ride one.

The bike is kind of cool but I like the looks, reliability, and lower operating costs of the F6B. Not to mention probably a better warranty. I had the option before I bought my F6C.

Is it the camera angles, or does it have kind of a crotch rocket sweep to it. Like lean forward slightly, or is it the angles?

I Like It!

I had the opportunity to ride a 1600 BMW a few years ago and was very impressed with the power and handling.

The speedo went to 170 mph and it felt like it would do every bit of it.

It's biggest drawback to me was the amount of electronics, Too many things to go wrong.

The video I saw on FB made it look like it was a long way from the rider to the hand controls.

Looks toO much like the  Shocked  Honda CTX1300

If it is the same engine as the rest of the K1600 line, then it is an inline 6.  My FIL was bragging about it a few years ago and my response was: "Great!  BMW made a more expensive CBX."

Sure is a beauty, first off it just grabs at my adventure heart.  I have a hard time seeing the pegs in these dark photos.  I like the idea of the feet forward which is my only gripe on Honda's flat sixes, but that is just the way my body and knees and lack of flexibility are at this stage in life.   If that bike carries all 7 gallons up top it may be top heavy and at 31 inch seating height the short legged will be challenged.  With all the electronics the projected price seems reasonable.  Only way to know more would be to sit on it.

The motorcycle blogs are full of folks bemoaning the frequency of repairs and the extraordinary cost of these repairs on BMWs, but they do give you a nice lounge with coffee and doughnuts while you wait.

Hope I get to try one out sometime.  Hey Eagle Rider  -  put these on your list of rentals.

This bike and so many others look great on line but the real test comes when you sit on it. Foot controls and handle bar locations are major points with me.  The capabilities of the bike may be great but if I can't ride comfortably I won't enjoy the  ride......  well maybe a little.

I believe it was a beemer triple I swung a leg over couple years back and when I got my butt settled in the saddle the handle bars were couple inches away from my finger tips. I HAD to lean forward to have my hands engage the hand grips. VERY uncomfortable. And if you've met me you Know I am the furthest thing from midget sized. Sales guy told me I was NOT the first that had noticed the seating/reach thingy!  uglystupid2 Have like Zero idea what some one In the 5' 4" to 5' 10" range would do.  Cuz I was having my problems and I'm 6' 2". RIDE SAFE.
