Idiot tries to rob gun store - receives instant justice
image: http://edge.liveleak.com/80281E/u/u/ll2/hd_video_icon.jpg

Two armed men chose the wrong place to attempt a robbery Monday morning, when an employee at the Cobb County gun shop confronted them and shot one dead at the scene, Cobb County police said.

The two men entered Dixie Gun and Pawn at 11 a.m. and attempted to rob the business.

A store employee happened to be armed and exchanged gunfire with the men, striking one of them. The robbery suspect died at the scene, police said.

The other suspect fled on foot. Police said Monday afternoon they have no information about him.

The worker was not injured and the case remains under investigation.

Looks like center of mass shot and hit him in the heart.  I don't see 'sploded head gunk anywhere.

Well done!

I didn't either. But of all the animals I've killed, some with shots to the heart. They will usually kick for a little bit. It's a moot point, he made a great shot.

Watching it closely, I'd say you're correct.   I believe the head jerk was a result of a center mass hit or three.   Smoke in the air, the shooter fired multiple shots, hard to say how many hits.

I haven't re-viewed it since my last post, but it looked like his arms came forward suddenly, which could have been from a body shot, or maybe just him taking aim.  Either way, I repeat, Well done!

If it was a head shot, maybe the hoodie contained all the splatter, which is considerate, it makes evidence collection and cleanup easier.

Well done on the part of the owner for sure. Looked like a very fast draw and the thug appeared to be done before he hit the ground. The round probably passed through and hit the spine. That's the only way I've shut off deer that instantly. Not sure if the perp fired the round that broke the case or if it was the employee following him down with another shot.

According to stats I've seen, gun store attempted robberies aren't as rare as one might assume.

Personally, I'd rather criminals went after those who can defend themselves as they did in this example. It's safer for the sheep and hopefully, leads to fewer living criminals.

A store employee happened to be armed   crazy2

Yeah, that just .... happened.

Like:

The Pope, happened to be Catholic.

The bear, happened to crap in the woods, and

As the earth rotated, it happened to get dark outside.

It looked to me like the employee, to get below easy line of sight of the bad guy's pistol, knelt down behind and fired just over the glass display case, quite accurately.  First round was a clean hit, the 2d grazed and broke the countertop.  I doubt that just happened either.  Planning ahead can do wonders for your results (in anything).  The DRT guy never got a shot off.

The employee/shooter did not appear to be carrying, but had to reach for it on a counter.  That was not a good plan.  All stores I go to, all countermen are belt carrying.  And one or two long guns on the wall are always loaded (only they know which ones).

when i worked in a small gun shop in high school and college we were required to carry while on the clock. They had professionals training us once a month at the range. They supplied all ammo and guns if we did not have one of our own. I always had my own. We always kept an AR and an 870 loaded on the gun rack behind the counter among all the other guns.

Definitely a candidate for a Darwin Award.

The place looks like a pawn shop to me.

I wonder if the idiots failed to case it first and didn't even know that it sold guns?

Dixie Gun and Pawn in Marbleton Georgia...

They definitely knew it was a gun shop, probably what they were after...
