So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

I tend to lose some respect for a man who refers to his wife as "the boss" or uses the well known adage, "If Mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy."  I believe in a marriage it is a man's responsibility to be the provider and protector.  I wouldn't consider marrying a woman who thought she could boss me or control me.  I do put forth great effort to keep my wife happy but it is for her benefit, not mine.  I often ask my wife for her advice and I do consider her opinion but under no circumstances does she believe that she can effectively tell me I can or I can't.

I realize that I am a bit out of date, old fashioned, but I prefer it that way.  I think a lot of today's American men have not only lost the effect of what they were born with but have also abandoned their responsibilities as men in this world.

I don't necessarily suggest that the properly oriented modern (or post modern) man should adopt my views.  They don't work well for some of us.  I have had two women divorce me and sometimes I have wondered what keeps the third from following the same path.

Hmmm................

Well, all I can say is this.   I recently posted this to another thread about fashion:

Well, I don't have long hair nor do I wear earrings.   At least the wife doesn't make me wear that nose ring out in public................  Undecided

Now, anyone that knows me, knows that this statement was made in jest.    Not that I expect anyone to "respect" me for posting that or to "lose respect" for me because of that.   What I would hope is that the post was taken as intended, as a joke.    Having said that, as an officially recognized PITA, I always expect to get what I give.    Wink

Posted with respect for all those who have proceeded me and done their part to contribute to our community.   It's hard to read some posts and always interpret the post as may have been intended.    cooldude

If, this is something you're curious about, you'll have to seek out someone with that particular knowledge.   I would have absolutely no idea.     coolsmiley   Why that even crossed your mind is beyond me but, every day we discover new things about ourselves.    If and when you find out, please feel free to not enlighten me.   Wink

On a positive note...I have a 97 STD and while out doing a furnace-A/C install on a hot August Saturday morning I get a text message from my wife(at a Yard Sale) with a picture of a Georgeous 2001 wing with a Bushtec trailer. She asked me what I thought of it....(I was thinking..."This is just a test , only a test...procede with caution") I said "What do YOU think"..She said it looked like a great deal. I said what is he asking for it , she said $6000.00 .....I said "What do you think" ? Again she said I think it's a great deal. I said offer him $5000.00...Almost immediately she said $5500.00 is the lowest he would go. I said (almost before she finished) I'll be right up with the cash. I now encourage my wife to go to all the yard sales she can....Oh , and she loves the Wing and the Valk both .

that is a good story, wish I could find a deal like that.  Even if the 01 Wing had 100K miles on it, with trailer included,  5500 is still a pretty good deal.   Lowest I have been seeing locally for a 01-05 Wing with say 30-50K miles is 6999, most being in that near 8K range (or higher), which is too much.

Sometimes deals find you I guess?  5 years ago I found a 3-4 year old 250cc scooter asking 1800 bucks needed some attention, nothing major- all cosmetic, but ran well.  Guy was moving to Florida in one week and did not want it to go with him for some odd reason and was last day in November before snow was going to fly NO way he would sell it being 40 or so degrees out.  I asked him bottom dollar, he said 1K, so told him I would be up next day with cash.  Since then, have put 6K miles on it not costing me a dime besides gas and oil changes and recently set of new tires/one spark plug, still runs well.  I figure I can keep it hopefully until has 20K miles or so and still sell it if wanted to for the 1K paid for it.  I am going though to have to try this summer taking off all the plastic housing to get at the antifreeze/coolant since is now 8 years and on same OEM coolant.

And YES,  wife said I could get it, but still thinks I look stupid on it some 5 years later.  Since insurance is only like 60 bucks per year on it and gas is cheap,  not out much besides first 1K.  Similar to my new enclosed trailer I bought late 2015, got sick of finding 10+ year old aluminum trailers still wanting 5K in 7x16 or slightly larger size in good shape or newer ones 2-3 years old for NEW asking price or more.  I drove 5 hours one way to Indiana to custom make exactly the trailer to fit my needs out the door price for 6.6K getting it for factory direct cost NOT thru a dealer marking it up near 1K or so also saving on shipping costs.  Same trailer made today at a dealership is over 8K and can keep it for 10+ years not out a dime still worth 6.6K purchase price if still in good shape then. I found out this trailer mfg. quit having customers come in factory direct pricing to purchase now must go thru a dealership and is sad since 2 of my co-workers requested after I bought mine to find out if still can do it since they wanted trailers as well saving 1 grand or more.  Found out reason this mfg. stopped selling directly to customers is because some guy in Chicago area went into a large dealership selling their trailer lineup and bragged and put down horribly this dealership about their high cost getting it factory direct pissing off that dealership to the point I heard they quit selling the mfgs. trailers.   Why would a person put down and slam a dealership face to face like that instead of keeping to themselves?  If I buy a vehicle at another dealership after going to 2-3 other dealerships,  I would never go back stating found a better deal elsewhere to the 2-3 dealerships I did not buy from unless those dealerships called back asking if I bought a vehicle yet.  I just say nicely sorry, found a better deal elsewhere when asked and as long as they are not pissy about it,  I will just say sorry, maybe next time.  One dealership sales guy was pissy to me stating I should have come back to them to match or beat other dealers pricing going to them first even, but said pissy back they had their chance first maybe if the offer was better at first I would have bought from them.  If the deal is GOOD for ME,  I will buy, even sometimes if I really do not need it..

Holy Crap, I have been here for a while and am familiar with the cast of characters her. I have even met some at the Blue/Grey event and at Dogg's house. I was just sharing my excitement on the prospects of a new 1800. I got the same love when I posted I was going Darkside. Its all good.  Grin
