they use to sell a base model tundra with rubber floors, etc. but not sure they do that anymore either have not seen one in a long time.

Before the Mini, I drove a manual 4wd Cheyenne "work truck"... roll up windows, rubber floors, standard cab.

I just looked at http://gmcchevy.com/2017-chevy-cheyenne/

... lots of aluminum and carbon fiber materials...

... The price of the new 2017 Cheyenne will be $45,000. The top trim will retail at around $55,000.

I still feel like you should be able to live in it if it costs that much...

The Mini is the only new car I ever got. About $22,000 the way I had it built. I was at the
dealer a couple of days ago, I saw an S (that's the medium souped up one, like I got) well
built out, $26,000 (maybe $26,999) ... it even had four doors. I looked in the back. Can you
still say "midget" on the Internet?

I would think the Jeep truck wouldn't have the loud, leaky, cold ride that jeeps have been associated with either, with a solid fixed top on it.
All part of the charm....

I love my 2012 Wrangler. Top model with all the goodies.... use as my company vehicle and primary personal vehicle. 150,000 km since new and no issues. Nothing too extreme, but its seen plenty of moderate off road in my continuous hunt for new fishing adventures. Great engine and tons of room with the back seats folded down. Removable hardtop has only leaked a few times....a bit noisy on the open highway, and yeah the gas mileage sucks (have never complained about that with the Valk :)), but like I said.... it's all part of the charm...
New one is in the cards this year.... would definitely consider the PU model if available...

The leaks might be charming in tropical BC, but it loses its charm somewhere below -25C.  ;D

Will probably grab one of these before the trend to unibody midsize "trucks" completely takes over.
