If Trump can get them to build airplanes, billions of dollars cheaper than the MSRP, imagine how many more billions the gov't would save if there was actually someone in each department negotiating the costs of goods and services.
The $400 hammers and $200 toilet seats were not fictitious. Fox reported on $12.00 muffins no so long ago.
I worked for a locksmith in NY who did a lot of work for the fed gov't. A lot of electronic locks and keyway changes (lots of job overturn) within their master lock system. Anyway, my boss used to bill for rates 25% higher than normal because he said it would take a long time to get paid. I guess there was nobody calling any of the other local locksmiths for a better price.
And we need to stop nation building.

Around here it is wise to add a significant buffer to bids for government jobs. There are so many layers of bureaucracy and the huge number of people involved means that there are a huge number of revisions and getting questions answered takes an unreasonable amount of time. This causes huge headaches for those doing the actual work and/or providing the end product. It's not about fleecing the government, but recovering future costs that are unpredictable but certain.

The really concerning numbers on the debt clock are the median income, now $30,046, 2000 $28,887!

I had mentioned last year-year before that the politicians believed the were working with a river of money. I DID miss something but it weren't intentional. That river of money is outbound-in bound maybe a trickle at best. RIDE SAFE.

Sure doesn't feel like a trickle when I look at all the government theft being stolen on my paystub.
