Saw this in the recent GWRR Wingworld, thought it was a great product.

Cruise Pack.

http://www.cruise-pack.com/

Do you ride with a passenger, and what do they do while back there? My wife is usually bored, and ends up nodding off and sleeping.

Looks like she could be back there watching a movie or playing her favorite game, allowing me to drive little faster or a little further.

Then again, look at the price, $145. This is just too much. It's a plastic mount, not much more than my $20 ipad cover, and a back pack harness, maybe worth another $20. At $50, it might be affordable and a nice addition to a long ride on the back of the bike.

Has anyone seen one of these in person, are they worth that kind of money, or?

Maybe I'm being overly judgmental, but... What's the point? If someone doesn't wanna be on the back of the bike, have 'em fly and meet ya' wherever you're going.

...but then I go and put Bluetooth intercoms that interface into my phone for music, intercom and phone calls so I can't be TOO negative on it, but....

Instead of falling asleep on the run the wife-unit would be shopping online to keep herself entertained.  ???

30-40 bucks tops in value, but could be dangerous as well, not worth the risk.

Just saw on the news tonight that driverless cars are soon to be in my area in Madison WI as a test in specific areas.  Best be NOT in my area of driving.......... tickedoff

As I recently have found out,  computers/electronics will fail, ONLY a matter of time.  I will take my chances with the idiot cagers all around me. uglystupid2

Yikes, that's pretty lame as far as I'm concerned. No offense to anyone who may think it's a useful idea as I believe strongly in "different strokes for different folks", but neither me nor my co-pilot would ever think about using/wearing  this type of contraption, as one of the many great things about riding these days  is to get away from the darn computer, phone, etc.

We've been riding 2 up for over 35 years with many, many 1,  2, 3 , etc week-long rides over the years and she's never complained or been bored. ....she enjoys the experience of riding sitting  back there  just as much as I do. First night we met I was on my then 1980 HD with a solo seat. Showed up at her place the next AM with a small piece of foam in my pocket, which she used to sit on the back fender for a 3 day ride up the coast and around Vancouver Island. Knew right then she was a definite keeper....3 months later we were married.... cooldude

I don't have a problem if Judy wants to be on her Kindle while we ride. I'm not going to wear a silly backpack to make it happen. The devise needs to be redesigned so the person using the tablet is the one wearing the thing.

Some people like to listen to music when they ride. Some like to be able to talk on their phone. Some want to talk to other riders in their group. Some like to use a GPS. Some, apparently want tablets.

I am none of those people.

I think it could be a good idea, but, I really dont want anyone tapping me on the back or pushing my backpack right or left while riding. I think it could be very distracting.

I have a giant (11") tablet with GPS, and a motorcycle-specific
Tom-Tom GPS. I spent a bunch of time noodling around with them
to get an idea how they work, it was fun, I like stuff like that.

I gave them a chance... I don't use them... to me they seem
good when the destination is the objective. When riding motorcycles,
we usually want to end up someplace eventually, but the ride there
is the real objective.

If Judy had to lean so far forward she needed a hand hold on the gas tank she simply would never ride. She likes her armrests too much. Now if there was a tablet mount for her armrests that might work. Lol

3 months later? Wow, you bet me. 9 months. I would have done it in 5, but her mother wasn't in the country, and the soon-to-be father-in-law asked that we wait. Then the house we looked for and bought before marrying, something we couldn't do today in Vancouver.

Not that I can ride anymore, but if I could, at $145 bucks she can hold the tablet all day for that price.  Besides, both of our tablets are 8 inches.....they don't offer them in that size.
