VRCC #6615

Auburn WA

« on: January 27, 2017, 01:35:13 PM »

Hey everyone! I haven't been a part of this club or message boards for quite a while. If there are any old timers still around, I'm "VegasShawn" VRCC #6615 from the old days. I'm without a Valkyrie right now but I'm in the market and hoping to pick something up before spring comes.

I had a 2000 Valkyrie Standard, then an 02 Goldwing and then an '03 Rune. I never made it to the Inzane meetings but I did make it to a couple of the western events back in '02 and '03. After that it's been a blur of motorcyles. I had a M109R, VStrom, Hayabusa, Roadliner and even a '94 GTS1000 I just sold.

I'm going to be starting a new job hopefully in a month or two and I'm looking to commute 3/4 time on a motorcyle and I'm ready to come back "home" to the Valkyrie. I'm just trying to decide between a Valk and an F6B. I need dry storage for stuff like a laptop bag so I'm leaning towards an F6B since I would need to install hard bags on a Valkyrie anyways.

Anyways, hello again!

It looks like there are still some old pics kicking around on the site. I even found a pic of myself from the '03 Prescott AZ Ride!

Hey, I remember you!  Welcome back.  InZane is in Montana this year, not that far from you.  j/s  Wink

You can look for a Valk Tourer with a shield and locking hard bags. I just bought one and sold another one. They're around, be patient.

Welcome back.

There is also the annual BC & WA rally, in Post Falls ID this year.

Also a plug for myself, I'm selling my 99' IS, $5500 CAD, that makes it what? about $4K USD  Roll Eyes and it is an ex-USA bike. Bag and trunk to keep that laptop dry.

Also there are the local Vermin boys in Seattle. They have a web site, and also the PNW Chapter forum here in the VRCC.

I have two Valks, both with factory hard bags that have no trouble holding the laptop in a soft carry case with notepads and other sundries. The trunk is coming off the IS once I find time to actually work on the Girls this winter.

I believe he is comparing a second generation Valkyrie to an f6B. Didn't sound like he was interested in the original version as I am sure he knows that there were Tourers and Interstates made that have dry storage. Welcome home. Personally I would opt for the f6B. Good luck and come hang out with us in MT.  cooldude

Now there are some name I recognize! Yes you are right. I'm looking for an 1800 for sure. I've even considered another Rune but I'm worried about parts availability and cost.
