Hi guys,
Been a while since ive been on here but been a rough year.  Back surgery, small bike accident but
Things are looking up. Just purchased a 98 tourer that matches my bike exactly but has a trike kit.
I'm getting a little older and my left leg will never be totally up to par so i thought this might be a good solution.  Besides could not refuse the price.  Comes with matching trailer and looks great.  Only has 2300 miles on it, so it says but still a great buy.  My question is that it does not have a reverse and I definitely would like one.  Anyone ever put a reverse on a Valkyrie trike kit.  I think its possible by going right to the trike wheels and not meeting with the drive shaft on the valk.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.. pics to come

2000 miles on the odometer?  It's rolled over IMHO.

Sell all of your other stuff and buy a triked out Goldwing.

I know it's been discussed, have you tried search?

Actually good advise, sell the Valk and buy a GW, comes standard with a reverse.

Only the Japaness Valkyrie had an option of a reverse. I believe in 6+ years I've seen one advertised.

If I was ever to need motor work, I was going to buy a GW engine, and get the reverse to work on the Valk.

I have two Valkyrie trikes and have never felt the need for a reverse.  They are much easier to move around than a two wheeler and you just have to be aware of the incline of the surface when you park them.  I also have a TriGlide that has reverse and I don't use it.  One of my daughters has a Goldwing trike with reverse and I would never trade my Valkyries for the Goldwing.  The Harley is a trike I took in on a trade and I will be selling it ASAP.  I know my Valkyries are getting old but I don't see anything available that will ever take their place for me.
Enjoy your trike and don't worry about the lack of reverse.   Larry

I think I've heard it mentioned here that the Valkyrie's made for the Japanese market had a reverse in them.

Please listen to what has been said here.
I helped build and have ridden Valk trikes and you
will find if you use your head you will not need it.
But if you feel you need it that bad the other suggestion
that you sell it all and get a wing is the way to go.

Excellent advice.

There is a time coming for me that if I'm going to continue to ride, it will most likely be on a trike.   I really don't like the GW plastic, the Valkyrie does it for me.   So, just as I've learned to not park my two wheeled Valkyrie into a down hill parking confined slot, I'm pretty sure that lesson will stick if and when I ever get a trike.   To each their own.   I even ride with some HD guys so you know I'm not going to discriminate.   Wink   What ever you decide, ride safe.
