Looking to purchase a GPS for my interstate that has an audio output jack so I can hear it through my wired headsets.  I also would like to be able to hear music from an auxiliary source as well when I am riding.  Not sure if this is possible or how to hook things up.  I presently have my phone hooked up to the auxiliary jack on the radio.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I do not want to use blue tooth because of the additional expense of having to purchase new headsets.  I just purchased J&M elite headsets a year ago.

I found an older Garmin Nuvi 760 that has an earphone jack, mp3 player and a slot for an SD card to put your music on.  Updates are still available from Garmin and it works great.  660 and 780 have the same features.  Reduces the devices by 1.

The zumo 450 and 550 utilize a 3.5mm jack in the mount.  Can only play music when in it's mount (which handles charging and microphone duties as well).
Also it's fully waterproof.  Mine has been through many torrential rains and I don't run a windshield.

550 is EOL'd for a couple years now.  No more support.  Went to the Zumo 660 which supports 2000 MP3's on one card. (The 550 was 1000 - "magic numbers" in programmerspeak. All Zumos are immersible IIRC.) The 660 also supports Sirius/XM & comes with the antenna - which supports weather radar and traffic.  I wired that into my Lanzar Crossover preamp w/Bluetooth which feeds into my 300w Uniqcycle amp.

The Uniqcycle amp sans the Crossover:

Then installed a phone holder with USB power on the bars.  Just a pair of speakers but they have great sound.  Pardon the busy pic. The tach is blocked here by the trailer brake controller.

Now I can listen to 2000 MP3's w/o changing the card, Satellite radio (sometimes you just have to have a little Howard) or any music service via the phone & bluetooth - like Pandora. The Lanzar Bluetooth is only to get the tunes from the phone to the audio system w/o a wire - no need to change output device.  BTW the Zumo 660 also supports Blutooth if you want to use it for phone calls.  I don't because I don't want a headset - when on the bike, I'm unavailable.

Thanks for all of the advice.  What type of brake controller do you have Mark.  I just purchased an Aspen camper and need to install a controller on my Interstate.  Any help on the install would be greatly appreciated.

It's a Tekonsha Voyager proportional brake controller. Timeout campers uses Dexter axles and their brakes along with the controller - add brakes to their trailer and they send the kit with everything - $500. See http://www.dexteraxle.com/ They seem to work fairly well.  They will be getting a good test in a couple weeks when we ride to the GOTF - about 1100m one way.

Here's Dexter Axle's page on brake controllers:
http://www.dexterpartsonline.com/page/5414188

And http://www.wikco.com/timeout.html
scroll down to brakes.

Here's an overview of different controllers including mine.
http://www.campertrailers.org/brake_controllers.htm

I have the pdf of installation and adjustment but pretty sure I can't post it here.  I can email it if you want to see it.
