wuz a cursed coffee pot. Did NOT want sumpin that looks like it could launch the space shuttle. You know-put in yer grounds add water turn on the switch and bout 10 minutes later ya gotz a fresh pot of hot java. But-NO-gotta be computer controlled fer how hot how much and how strong. Oh and the time you want It the day you want it and whether or not yer politically affiliated and do you have yer CCW. Closet thing I found at wally wurld was a Mr. Coffee that had a separate box with it for the instruction manual and the instruction manual box wuz bigger than the coffee pot box by 60% or so.  Lips Sealed Coffee pot wuz $50.00 manual wuz an extry $75.00.  Roll Eyes  Sooooooo I head over to Dollar General and here we go Again!  uglystupid2 Wait-holt up-they have Toastmaster brand and upon closer inspection there are indeed and fact 2-yes 2-difrent models by the same manufacturer. One is a 12 cup whiz bang that appears to be capable of at least an air to air missile launch. The other one howsumever appears to have my much desired simple on and of switch! The wiz bang Toastmaster was $25.00 and included the instruction manual. My plain Jane simple on and off switch Toastmaster 12 cup with instruction manual was $12.50.  cooldude When ZACKLY did sumpin fairly simple like purchasing a coffee pot git so effin difficult!  tickedoff Makes me askeered of goin on over to the car dealers  Undecided RIDE SAFE.

Add to that, I had two nice mid-price coffeemakers (both Mr Coffee) just die on me last year, after a couple months easy use.  I do not save receipts (beyond a few days) on small stuff.

I also do not need all the bells and whistles.  Nonetheless, I now have a permanent kitchen night light led on my coffee maker.  I could (should) just unplug it, I didn't need a fifth clock in my kitchen (along with the wall, stove, microwave, clock-radio, and God knows what else) (I never set the coffeemaker clock, just hit a button to stop it from blinking at me, forever)

The one feature on a coffee maker I do like (and want) is the automatic timer shutoff deal after a couple hours.  Coffeemakers are one of the biggest draws in your home, and while I try to be careful, the idea of leaving the house and having a coffeemaker burn my house down is worrisome.  Yes, I have circuit breakers.

yah, going on over to a car dealership might put you 6 feet under due to sticker shock.

Every single year I evaluate the msrp pricing of new vehicles.  They go up every single year about 3% from year to year.  I never thought a mid level truck or SUV would run over 30K, now let alone 40K msrp.  OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know if you can buy Black and Decker appliances south of the border.
Up north they are below $30 CDN. Simple to use like you want.

Don't plug it in first, my head still hurts form ol ladies Griswold. Cost about 1 big daddy but anything else out there is junk. Bunn.

wally wurld looked like it wuz STILL tryin to restock from Christmas. I've seen the B & D in the stores but Not today. Simple and cheap-my water here does NOT do electric coffee pots ANY favors. The one that crapped out was bout 3 years old and some dollar store special. Considering I use it 6 days out of the week generally 3 years ain't all that bad on the cheap.

I bought a cheap Hamilton Beach ONE cup coffee maker three years ago and it's great.  No clock, no timer, no nuttin'.  I grind the beans pour therm into the SS filter basket (no paper filters), and push the button. Three minutes later, fresh hot coffee.   Works fine for me but I don't drink much coffee but when i do, it's a great cup of coffee.  Run vinegar through it occasionally.  Drawback, one cup only.

It's a very simple solution.Go to your local Goodwill,Salvation army,or thrift store. There's one Hamilton beach coffee maker that they no longer make so whenever I'm out shopping I stop in looking for that model.I buy them for $3/$5 and clean and store them so I always have a spare.Cheap and always available.

I bought a Quisenart 15 yrs ago little less than 100 bucks. had cheap ones before kept buying replacements. This one still ticking. does have clock timer and choice of brewing but key is keeping coffe hot in pot. Has 2-3 setting for pot temp. key is not too hot will burn and change flavor of coffee. Pot will turn off automaticaly in 2 hrs. I have a whole house RO system. water coming out of faucet is 215 ppm where bottled water has around 400-500 ppm. I can reheat a cup of morning coffee at 5 pm and taste the same as morning brewed. Flavor is consistantly outstanding. This model is still  selling and is available around the 80 range. To each there own. Key is the water used and brand of coffe. Each brand has there own destinct flavor which someone may prefer but water is the controling factor. My daughter back home has well water high iron has an under counter RO system  she uses maxwel house coffee and taste great, Tried it at home taste different, Folgers works best for me. Smiley

Well, if you can watch porn on you refrigerator, just imagine what you could do with an intelligent coffee maker!

(Personally, and I know I'll be branded a heretic by the purists, but I love my Keurig with cheap Wal Mart brand k-cups. AND as an added bonus the Keurig k-cups are supposedly contributing to the ruination of the environment! It's the little things that help me sleep at night...)

The Keurig has my vote!  I have one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. I discovered Ollie's and can get 80 K-cups for 25 bucks....not too shabby tasting. If I want a really tasty cup I will use one of the Gevalia K-cups I have.
