Good shot, but not amazing. 

All you have to do is break off the right piece of horn to set them free.  Though I'd imagine it hurts like hell for the deer.

It would probably take the average person a few shots to hit the sweet spot like that.  Or, just wait till the deer gets tired enough and use a saw.

A combination of luck and skill.    (we cannot see anything, maybe the shot just frightened them apart)

I personally doubt he hit the antler.   There's good and then there's great.   That would have been an amazing shot.   Just call me, Doubting Ron.

That one way to settle who gets the does.  I can hear them does laughing now - there goes stubby.  The now short antler one can just slink off and wait till next year.

In the video I saw what appeared to be almost the entire antler was shown after the buck r-u-n-o-f-f-t.
