Hey all, crazy topic right? Before yesterday I would have thought the same thing except for when my kids were little and just learning about the planets. I thought this went out the window after Columbus made it to the new world and back to Spain proving he didn't fall off the edge of the world.
Well yesterday I was listening to the morning show on the radio I usually do and the guys had a guest on the show by phone discussing the reasons why Earth is flat and for the last 500 years we have been lied to about earth being round.
Now I know the world is a place where people are always in perpetual disagreement over politics, religion and a host of other topics, but I would never in my life ever expected to hear people putting out an argument promoting Earth being flat.
Today I made the mistake of checking YouTube on the subject of "Flat Earth" and it's incredible what I found, not to mention the number of hits on Google.
I really don't recommend looking up this stuff unless you're looking for aggravation and madness because there's some real wackos out there.

I have read and watched a bunch of stuff about this very subject. Seems both sides have compelling theories. You are right, this will make one go mad thinking about it. I came to the conclusion that I don't really care.

It just dawned on me that now maybe there's another theory for the Bermuda Triangle.

When I jumped out of a C-130 at 25 thousand feet I could definitely see the curvature of the earth. All those videos twist facts out of context and form fake results. Kind of like if I was standing ten feet from you it would be impossible to walk to you because: If you divide the 10 feet in half you have 5, divide the 5 you have 2.5 and you can divide forever so obviously there is an infinite amount of space between us so it would be impossible to cross

We have had many leaders visit Antarctica and no one really seems to know why. Why Are World Leaders Visiting Antarctica
They're probably checking out what was discovered in the 1930/31 Miskatonic University Antarctic Expedition.

Its seems I remember certain members here telling other members that they had to belong the Flat Earth Society. So they must know something about it.

For anyone stupid enough to believe the Earth is flat, I would love to hear their explaination for how we get night and day. Also solar and lunar eclipse (s) or even sunrise and sunset. I guess they have a whole alternate explaination for how the entire universe works. Lol

After several days riding across the Canadian Prairies or across Middle America, it's easy for one to start thinking the world might be flat...but no, it's not...

I too, have left the safeish confines of a C-130 at 25,000feet. Opened at 5K. The curvature of the earth was also plainly visible when we "Rubbed the roof" in the F-4. But, its flat. It only looks round. I think the earth wants to be flat, and identifies as flat. That's why we have Kansas and the Steppes.

Czuch, I will never forget that jump. I was an instructor at time, we were allowed to open at 2000feet. That was my longest free fall over 150 seconds. Nice to know there's another one of us that knows this special joy. We did like five jumps worth of realative work on that jump. There's nothing that compares to the extended adrenaline rush, excitement during extreme tranquility. For hours after that jump I felt no fatigue, all my aches and pains were gone better than a really good pain pill. And the overwhelming feeling of happiness. I guess that's why I was addicted to freefall. I had a shirt that said. "Skydivers have more fun than people" Don't know what happened to it.

Flat Earth Theory. Well how about the Hollow Earth Theory. This one actually may have started with one of America's Greatest explorers, that being Naval Admiral Richard Byrd and the amazing story he put forth long after his flight to the North Pole in Feb. of 1947. The following is his log of this very very strange trip. Or is it really strange after all. It was in the following June of 1947 that Kenneth Arnold ( with over 9000 flight hours ) witnessed a flight of 9 flying saucers that passed by Mt. Rainer. He was able to judge their speed by distance between peaks at over 1200 mph. From this the modern UFO era was born. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/tierra_hueca/esp_tierra_hueca_2d.htm

Simple, the sun is much smaller and closer to earth than they tell us. It is not big enough to light the whole earth at once and it rotates above us not around us. even an idiot knows this. I really dont buy the flat earth theory, but it is interesting to read about and watch videos on.

It is pretty cool how we have all this info right at our fingertips. Growing up you had to have a set of encyclopedias and it still didn't come close to all this. As to the UFO's. I worked with a guy that swore he had been abducted by aliens and probed. Got to the point you couldn't mention anything about UFO's or he'd go on for hours about it. He also thought the government gave him his cancer that killed him thru chemtrails in the sky.
