A 2001 Valkyrie just popped up today for sale on FaceBook locally. It is immaculate (I can fix that) with 15,000 miles. Standard with Tourer windshield and hardbags. Looks like a choke cable is all it needs besides a heck of a lot more miles.... $3900. I'm ok with that!

 Grin

PS-I already bought it.

I too saw today on craigslist sort of local a 2003 standard with some really nice add on chrome goodies with studded leather side bags, aftermarket exhaust with OEM exhaust, windshield,  studded seat and studded tank big,  windshield, drivers backrest, rear flat chrome rack on back with ONLY I think 10K miles looks mint condition for 4500.   Man, do not tempt me as well, it looked sharped all black with tons of chrome goodies on it as well.  Man oh man,  the deals are out there if got some spare cash laying around.

Wife said NO today to me buying near 1/2 price a new ATV hard storage rack for rear rack that I want new msrp is 245 bucks have seen online for 160 new.  The guy will let me have it for 100 bucks and is new as well never used.  I guess is 100 bucks will not work on her,  4500 will not either.... tickedoff 2funny

I have tons of ATV storage pieces all soft sided NON hard sided plastic which I would leave this one on all the time since is u-bolted into place not snap clipped like all my soft sided cases are.

I'll hafta admit, as I keep seeing these pristine Valks going by at near give away prices, I've been sorely tempted just to have a backup...

But then I gotta add in the other costs - registration, insurance, maintenance, figuring out where to store the thing... I'd probably have to give up the ST1300 to make room for it...

But still, so very tempting.

I mean, do we REALLY need to keep the cars in the garage?

Nice find, and nice addition to the stable!

About garages.....I've never used a garage to house a car. Every garage I see is a potential man-cave/refuge/workshop, what have you. When I see a car in a garage, my first thought is, 'why in the hell is that car in there?'

We built our addition for our upholstery business about 12 yrs ago. 30' X 40', 2 story. When it was still empty, I had many wonderful visions of what I could do with all that space...

Now I can't put anything bigger than a breadbox in there. My bike sits outside under cover....that just ain't right.

Hopefully not. I'm still not sure about GOTF as I have to be back in Austin the next weekend. Back to back 1400 mile weekends with a work week in between may not be doable for this 62 year old body! I will be going to Montana in June.

I am probably going to sell my ST1300 sometime this year.
