Went to the V A Hospital in Poplar Bluff Mo. Monday the 27th for my meeting with the C-pap specialist. Lets just say this gal ROCKS.  2funny I ended up with a DreamStation by Philips. The mask she gave me is the ResMed Swift FX. The mask-her words and I agree-Is a cannula on steroids! It ONLY covers my nose-NOT my mouth. Built in humidifier heat and Extremely QUIET. Monday night did Not make all night with it. Would have made all night last night-28th-cept fer the cursed big ol storms that rolled thru here bout O dark thirty. As it were I was able to put the mask back on and finish the night til the alarm went off. I am able to exhale easily with this machine and I do believe sooner than I expected I will sleep ALL night with it!  cooldude Me bein the curious sort I are I looked up the machine and the mask-machine just north of $1500.00 and the mask just north of $125.00. BUT the V A as with the rest of my breathing "stuff" IS pickin up the tab-A K A the tax payers. The Very FACT the gubmint is keeping a PROMISE they made to me in 1964 kinda boggles the mind a mite!  Grin RIDE SAFE.

That's great, Dennis!
I haven't had the same result. I now have bought three sets of hearing aids on my dollar.  The VA refuse to consider me eligible because my records were burned in 1973.  They claim that I was an Xray tech and thus worked in a hospital setting, no noise.

Not a big deal compared to PTSD so I gave up.

I do Hear you Wayne. Sometimes when I get to the Clinic-West Plains or the Hospital-Poplar Bluff-the Sand Box Veterans Seem to continue to be shat upon.  Undecided Far TOO many similar stories from the Vets themselves and/or Wives/Family /Friends.  Cry They seem-from what I've heard-appear to NOT be getting the same level of care I'm getting. I have personally zero way to validate ANY of what I've heard but as I've stated-TOO many similar stories. RIDE SAFE.

I wish there was a cannula style cpap that you could just go to a store and buy, take it home and road test it.

JoAnn harassed me so much over one I tried I just got rid of the damn thing.
