Looking for any suggestions and opinions.

Thanks.

I'm sold on Dowco Guardian covers. I've got one that zippers up the back side to help getting it on and off. Much too heavy duty to bring along though.

They make half covers that just keep the dew away, and I assume they're for traveling. Check out Dowco, if their lightweight covers are anything like the others, you'll be happy.

I have a Kuryaken full cover that is good. But it takes up a fair amount of room. Fudgie turned me on to a half cover that I really like. Good quality, small package. I don't remember the company name, but I will look it up later.  cooldude

When I inherited my bike from my dad he given me the cover he had used. I am still using that cover today, and it is almost ten years old! It packs up impressively small, is very heavy duty, and has given my bike great protecting while stored in the garage or out on the road.

The only complaint I can come up with is the cover has outlasted the life of the bungees that hold the cover in place. But they are small, cheap and easy to replace.

Get the extra large of the Interstate;

I've had this Dowco half cover for years, and it goes on all trips (IS and supervalk IS).

It is (only) large softball size and packs tight, not really waterproof, but 95% of rain runs off it.  The idea of a traveling cover is to keep the bike (electricals/seats) from getting flooded in downpours, hot sun off, and keep eyes and hands off it on motel nights.  It dries quickly, often in the shower stall while I go riding.  If it rains overnight, it's usually dry by sunup and the bike only needs a little wipe down and that's it.

Full covers suck and get hung up on all manner of things; the zipper may help but I don't want a zipper rubbing my paint, esp if there's a big windstorm blowing it back and forth all night.  Bigger to pack, longer to dry.

The bottom of my interstate still shows all around but the important stuff is covered, and on the supervalk, it covers down to the rear fender in back.

No metal parts or hooks, just elastic loops.

Here's some exotic stretchy covers (made local to me) that are expensive ($75 and up), and probably the only ones that you could use (without shredding) on an exposed motorcycle trailer.  So nice, I'd be afraid someone might steal it.

I was concerned by the zipper, so I called the company before I purchased. They assured me that there was a protective layer beneath the zipper, and there is. No worries.

Nelson-Rigg is what I use against shop wear for my Valk. If I traveled, it's what I would take.

Yep, I remember that downpour for sure. Luckily for me, that was my one planned day off from riding while there  Smiley

I've had that Kuryakin full cover for about 6 years, and it does a good job of keeping the bike dry. It's a bit bulky, but I've got a good system where it stows up underneath the trunk against the fender...secure and allows more room up top on longer rides especially when the co-pilot's along

Here you go Bro. If you're interested I'll send you the model/link. It cost around 90 or 100 bucks as I recall. This is on a full Tourer with windshield, sissybar, and luggage rack.

I did ride that day, but had to hole up for a bit during one of the downpours.

I keep a half cover in the saddle bag yr round. I travel with a 100% waterproof full cover. Always have a dry bike.

I don't care for half covers since they don't cover the bike. I use my Dowco Guardian, it is heavier than some but I roll it up and strap it on, usually to the trunk rack, but you can always fit one more thing with bungie cords.

Yes two thumbs up on the Dowco Guardian covers. I have several for my bike collection and they are wonderful and water proof.  Yes they fold up nicely and slip inside the provided pouch , very easy to bring along on trips. Mine are full covers too.  Last for decades very good covers.  A good choice indeed. cooldude
