Yep, good on the judge! Seems mom's anger is misdirected.
Made me think of a new DWI public service ad they're running on the local stations in Colorado. It shows several male and female vehicular homicide perps in prison talking about what they've lost, with tears flowing. All I could think was, how about what the victims lost?
Far too many states treat impaired-drunk or high-as good ol boy mess-ups. Far too many sates don't seem to consider it a crime-even when someone is killed. IF the first D U I/D W I had a 10 year sentence and you do every cursed day of the 10 years and the 2nd offense of impaired driving put you away for 65 years and you do every cursed day of the 65 years why it WOULD clean up SOME of that mess out there. From the high seat of my 18 wheeler and the front sat of my Ambulance-I KNOW and have first hand experience after the fact with the aftermath of DRUNK/HIGH driving. Seen far To much I can NEVER unsee. RIDE SAFE.
