Anyone in the Denver area willing to look at an Interstate for me.  It is at Faye Myers motor sports.  I would fly in and ride it home if the deal can be made.

You mean this one: http://faymyers.com/Motorcycles-Honda-Valkyrie-Interstate-2000-Greenwood-Village-CO-bb8765f9-e34d-4fb4-8111-a67400e38d62

By the looks of it, that's a nice clean one. Just the way I like it, no tinkering by previous owners. Good luck, I hope you bring it home.

Funny, "most powerful touring motorcycle Made today"

I'd agree with the first part.

That bike looks bone stock. It amazes me that one can still find these bikes with such low miles on them. Looks like a nice one, good luck!

Price is way high for today's market.  Mileage that low makes me wonder how long it's been sitting.

I agree, I paid 2k less for a '99 with 15k on the clock in October of last year and I am still going through it. I have not been rushing since the salt is still covering every intersection locally and there a number of mods I plan before reassembly. I am still pondering the passing lights I want to add since the pod lights are made of unobtainium.

This  time of year I think you can add $1000.00 value to any of our  bikes in a northern climate.  It looks like a nice stock machine in an aired environment; I would expect a clean machine.

If your serious about it call the dealership and explain your situation.  Have someone from this group take the machine out for a quick spin; they will know wihin 5 minutes how the carbs are.  If the test run is good negotiate the deal over the phone before you even leave home.  Your probably going to want some fresh tires and rear end serviced, negotiate that into the deal.  Buy a one way ticket, have the dealer pick you up at the airport, pay in cash, and be on he road towards home that day.

I did a similar sceniaro, those are great trips.  It just takes a little courage.

Best of luck.

Bought my 1st IS from Arlen Ness in Las Vegas, over the phone, after I had the future son-in-law drop by and look it over, just before Christmas 09'.

Negotiated the price, and for him to hold the bike till I could come down and drive it home, by the end of May. Couriered a check, no problem being a personal one, since he was still holding the bike. Bro and I went on a road trip and drove down and back over a week. Had a great time. We took turns driving the MC back home in 2 days.

Went down the middle of April, and had every kind of weather on the way back north.

I'm serious about another valk as the wife's vtx is getting miled up and she likes to ride mine. I'll pay nowhere near the asking price or they can keep it.  It was originally listed back in early September so they've had it awhile.  Deadpan is going tomorrow for a look see.  Hope it runs well but if carb work is needed it will be reflected in the price

If you do decide to buy it, Misfit lives a ways down the road in Colorado Springs. He's an excellent mechanic.  Work a deal with him to pick it up for you and go over it.  The carbs are certainly suspect with mileage that low but I'm also concerned about the U-joint boot and final drive maintenance.  It could be a good deal for you if they're willing to adjust the price.

I was curious so I stopped by and looked at it. Its straight, and all there. The shop is asking too much. They barely cleaned it. Tabs on all covers and pods are intact. The alternator covers chrome is wrinkling. It's very stock (not a bad thing). Only upgrade I could find was highway pegs. Back tire is new, but front is half way gone. No signs of it being crashed, but it has normal signs of wear.. a bit much for being a low miler. My guess is it was stored outside.

They didnt want to dig it out of the sales floor so I couldnt hear it run.

I bought my first bike from Fay Meyers. And had a good experience. Hope this helps in addition to whatever Deadpan finds.

Thank you deadpan for having a look. Darksider  thanks for giving your update as well.  From talking  to deadpan and reading dark siders post the dealer didn't do much to at  least make it  presentable bags had a few long surface scratches. Otherwise looked ok.  Hiway pegs only. That's it.  Salesman is not in till Tuesday so I'll phone then. To me this is a 5500   BIke.  They'll most likely turn me down though

Thanks   I'll let you know

When I see Valkyries at dealers, they always seem real high,
I guess they sell eventually... maybe to people who aren't
on the VRCC, but can tell a good motorcycle when they see
one...

A better deal?  Maybe a '97 @26,000 miles for $3150?  Creme and Green?
