I put my bike on there a couple of months ago, then, l had 3 scams within 8 hrs. Seen it happen a bunch of times tryin to sell a bike. A person would basically have to be asleep to go for one of these idiots proposals.

same here, listed my truck for sale on craigslist and had multiple scammers thinking I was more stupid than I look... Grin

One of those things were you do not want to list your number to call due to scammers thinking we are that stupid.  I let once letting the guy jabber on and on to me on my cell phone and was sort of playing his game and finally let the SOB have it at the end before I hung up on him basically telling him to NEVER call again or he will regret it.

Sold a lot of things on Craigslist in the past but no longer use it because of this very issue. Scammers are going to ruin Craigslist altogether in my opinion.

I thought I was getting scammed a few years ago selling a boat.  French accent, said he was from K-Bec.  Wanted my bank account number to put the money in it, then would drive down and pick it up, or have a friend pick it up.   YOU BET.   A week later same guy calls back wanting to know if I would take travelers checks.  I looked outside and saw a turnip truck in my drive but as yet I had not fallen off of it.  But I played the game.  Told him bring the travelers checks but go to any Chase Bank in Dayton and cash their and bring me the cash.  I thought that would be the end.  3 days later the guy was at my door having driven 1000 miles from Quebec with 10g.  Said Chase cashed them for him.  This was 10th of December.   Needless to say I was more than pleasantly surprised.

Had a motorcycle on CL a few years ago, scammer contacted me, yadda,yadda....same old crap. I said sure send me the travelers checks and I'll send the bike to your shipper to go over seas. got the checks in the mail, very well done counterfeits. He contacted me with the shipper info and I said, I already shipped it with my uncle who is a over seas shipper, I saved you some shipping fees....he went crazy, said no, you can't do that, I said I did, it's on the way to France, he blew a gasket, I laughed, he kept trying to FIX it and ......I laughed some more...finally just shut him off.  Grin Grin
