Go see it, or rent it on video when it comes out. I didn't read the book but my wife and mother had and both wanted to see the movie.5 out of 5 stars.

Looks like an interesting movie, looking forward to seeing it come out on whatever venue that's free.   Will make a point to watch it then.   Yeah, I'm  a cheap skate.    What can I say.  Wink

Thanks for posting this, I doubt I will watch it until its free. Liked movies like Bruce almighty and Evan almighty because it shows a funny and flawed human side of the us that says what if. But have a bit of a problem with a movie that uses strong emotion and portrays God in an untrue light. People might be deceived that are looking. Its just true enough to be dangerous and lures with emotion.

It's worth seeing if only for the thought if provokes. It does tug on the heartstrings which is not a bad thing if your are a little crusty.

There are plenty of movies to watch about life, death and tragedy to tug at heartstrings without portraying God and God's word incorrectly and in a serious tone as Robert so eloquently stated.  Many are already confused about God. A bit more clarity and truth would be more worth watching.

I read the book and I will probably see the movie at some point.  It's an interesting attempt by a non-Christ follower to represent God and explain the Trinity.

He does leave you an out at the end in which he relates that the primary character was in a coma the whole time giving you the option of thinking it was all hallucination but the he leads the others to the specific point that the "God" took him to.  It may be more meaningful to nonbelievers or pseudo Christians.

It is moderately good thinking material.

What is most troubling is the subtle normalizing of the doctrine of universal (or absolute) reconciliation so that those that don't have a saving knowledge of God have one more reason to maybe come to the intended conclusion that all creation is saved so there is no need for repentance and personal reconciliation.

That's all I have to say.
