My son was laid off from his job and no longer has a health care plan. He has asthma and takes Proventil and Advair. I'm shopping around and have stumbled upon the mail order places in Canada, anyone have any experiences with these or recommendations?
thanx

hard to say with knowing who you are dealing with, but many people used to bus up there to by the same meds but way cheaper.

let me guess. Obama Care is way out of his budget because he actually worked part of this year? It might be worth a try getting these meds from Canada. Will his doctor write a script for him to use online?

Has he served in the U S Military? If the answer is yes-go to your local V A clinic or hospital. They May be able to help. I looked into Canadian Meds a long time ago but Never ordered any. Check with some of or Canadian Bros and Sisters? Good Luck on your quest. RIDE SAFE.

Though it has been a few years ago, my Mom had a similar experience. A change in insurance discontinued the coverage of one of her meds. Can't recall what one. Anyway, she had been getting it from the local pharmacy and it went from being covered to $128 a month. She looked around on the internet and found the same exact med. from the same maker, in same strength, from a Canadian mail order place for $20. That included shipping if I recall.
Anyway, I'd go for the Canadian route till the insanity on this side of the border relents.

Canadians don't usually buy from online pharmacies; we go to the local vendors, be they corner store, Costco, or Real Canadian Superstore, etc. Canadian online pharmacies are mainly for Americans. That being said, I would see if you can find unsolicited reviews for the vendors you are interested in, look into which group they are certified by, check if the certification organization is legitimate, then ask that organization if the vendor is actually registered with them.

I know allot of people has problems with Dr Oz info. I find him to be a good source of info., he brings on some good doctors and professional people. Dr Oz don't endorse anybody or anything. Awhile ago the subject of best med pricing, and if I recall correctly Costco Pharmacy was very high on the list of best pricing. Just the other day on Oz the spoke in the issue if online med's that are counterfeit coming from China. Also I live near Lake St Clair and Canada is about a stone through away, I get several TV channels. On one of their programs this week, about Border Patrol they has a segment about all the counterfeit coming through their Customs warehouse. Don't wan to discourage you, med's are important to your health. Maybe check with the Canadian Administrator for a list of best places to buy your med. Canadians take their credibility seriously.

I always thought that meds could only be bought with a prescription from a Dr. Then purchased through a pharmacy.
But after a lot of talk and recommendations from a "friend" (yes, I do have some), I bought these little blue pills online. Cost was $30 USD for 20 ea, compared to $40 CAD for Dr. prescribed generic brand 6 ea. No prescription, no nothing. They also sell a lot of other "stuff" online. Steroids and the like.
I pay about $150 every 3 months for my prescriptions, which I get most back from my extended medical provider.

I get my meds at Kmart except for one very expensive one I found dirt cheap at COSTCO. I don't have a membership, they ship it from California. Check them out.

Thanx for the input, some ideas I've not thought of. After reading about Canadian pharmacys, I have more questions and concerns than when I started.

Luckily , I live 5 hours from Mexico where I pay $35 for asthma meds that would cost me $240 here . It's still a long ways to go and I did call a pharmacy in Canada a couple of years ago , still need a prescription and that's no problem , just get one from a doctor and you are good to go , I would buy from Canada pharmacy in a heart beat , what's the problem ?
I tried to get Hydrocodin form my doc here , he would not give it to me , got it in Mexico , over the counter , no scrip needed , same with all meds , anyway , they were $9 each , so I did not buy the 100 I was planning on , did not have $900 to spend on the pain killers
