Has anyone here taken the ass end of a wing (less the trunk) and bolt it on the ass end of a new Valk? Pretty Straight forward? Not sure if this should post here or tech talk....I am not asking how to do that yet, just if it can be done?

I like the look of the new stripped down valk and like the wing saddle bags. I have access to the bags and am contemplating buying a left over 14 Valk.

Big Rig,

I'm just speculating, I know the newer Valkyrie and GL1800 have a very similar twin spar aluminum frames. I believe the Wing has more weldments and bracketry for the bag and trunk supports.

Anything can be done, I'd be curios to see how that would look! Best of luck in the endeavor.

The rear subframe on the Valkyrie is different. I guess you're trying to make
a $9,000 brand new f6b?

I'm assuming he doesn't want a frame mounted fairing, or any fairing. It's seems like a cool idea, but may be a lot of work.

I think it could be done with someone skilled enough in aluminum fabrication and welding. I wouldn't know though, I'm just a garden tractor engineer  Undecided

The frame on a 1800 takes special care when welding. Hence the early cracking frames on 2001-2002 1800s. The early issues was to high of heat during production. Some one thought if we crank up the heat we can weld faster and turn out more frames per hour. This was in stark contrast on how the supplier of the alumimun told Honda how to weld it.

The other thing on a Wing/ F6B your sitting on the gas tank. On the new Valk I beleave the tank sits on top of the frame rails. It might be easyer to transform the fairing of a F6B into a new style Valk. Before you invest a bunch of money I would look at the wiring harness of a F6B and a 1800 Valk. The difference between the two may stop you in your tracks. I remember seeing a early 1800 wing that was build into a Valk look alike. I think it might have been at one of the last CBRs. It had a lot of custom metal work. Time, money and talent most anything can be accomplished.

The new Corbin hard bags look nice on a newer Valk. Much easier. I've been thinking about a 15 Red Valk with a set of those bags.

Valkyrie frame and wing frame are different in the rear. It would not be a simple bolt on, the front frame section is the same.

BINGO!!! I am not a fan of the F6Bs front end, but I really do like the look of the Valk front end with a shield... also like the rear end of the F6B...To me it would be that bike like no other, which is why I bought my 99 IS...with this group, I am surprised nobody else have pursued this idea...right now it is a concept and half the fun is thinking it thru.

cooldude I agree, it seems like a great idea. I wish I knew how to do photoshop stuff. I think that would be a badass looking bike.
