Helmet Info

A little info if you can or will.
I ordered a Schuberth from Revzilla a 2 weeks ago. I measured my head and numbers showed me to be a XL. I ordered up one to a 2xl. Helmet showed up and man was it tight. Material inside was loose and sagging on both sides of crown. Extra layer/lip of material at chin (noise damper?) was new to me. 3xl is back in stock and I'm thinking about trying again. Do these helmets vent well and is there really a big difference in how quiet they are compared to other helmets? Not sure I can feel the difference between 3lbs.5oz and 3lbs 9oz.
I tried on a HJC IS-Max II at the local dealer in a 3x and the helmet fit great. Visors and controls were easy to use. Wondering how well these vent and how quiet or loud these helmets are?
Last helmet I owned was an old Nolan,(do not remember model) circa 1987 give or take. It was a very comfortable helmet. I quit wearing one for a long time. Want to get back in the habit.

I just purchased a closeout Schuberth C3 Pro a couple weeks back. When I measured my head, it fell into the extra large size range by only a quarter inch on the circumference. Imagine my "what to do?".
I went with it and got the XL as opposed the the "large" that I was barely over in "fit". I'm glad I did get the XL one. It's tight going on but once on, there is a little wiggle if I grab the front of the helmet and move it from side to side.
Keep in mind, you can buy different thicknesses in your cheek pads. Maybe that's all you need. If your head measured into a XL, and you've already tried a 2x, I would get with Schuberth and see what they say.
The helmet is very quiet compared to my old HJC but I still get some wind noise. The helmet is rated at 82db at 60mph, I believe. This is my first helmet with a neck pad and also the chin pad but I've gotten used to them. You can take the chin pad out for more air flow if you want.
The top vent seems to move air pretty well over the crown of my head. I don't notice too much difference in air flow with the front chin vent open or closed.
I will definitely keep mine and got it for a closeout price of 499. Hopefully, the comfort level with go up further as the padding/styrofoam wears in.
Good luck with getting yours right!

Youse pin heads are lucky to have so many choices.
Us melon heads (4xl) don't have many options.
I use a HJC flip front and have done for years.

If you haven't wear a helmet since 1987, you might need some time to get used to it. Here is a good instruction video voor sizing a helmet.
