Cooling system crossover pipe

  The last couple of years I've been replacing hoses among other things that were still original.
  I did the radiator hoses but then came to the crossover hose for the cooling system.  I found no mention of it on the board but thought I'd replace it anyway.
It's not too much of a job and maybe I made it harder by removing the sleeves that go in the engine block but I wanted to replace the o-rings on the sleeves. I'm glad I did, they were both flattened considerably and one was cracked a bit.
  The crossover hose broke in the process because of my wresting with it but if it broke that easy it could have gone bad at any time.
  Taking the crash bar off made things a lot easier.  Four bolts and just the front part of the bar comes off.
  When putting it back together make sure to put the hose clamps on correctly so you can tighten them without disassembly.

Two different people posting the same information can be helpful, as different people will note different things, and may use different words to describe the same thing, making it easier for people to find the information they need, as different people will use different search terms.  What many find annoying is seeing the same questions come up over and over again, when a simple search will provide answers to those questions.

did your hoses fail the inspection as required per the service manual?
how many miles on the m/c?
is the m/c stored outside?

  Didn't fail an inspection I'm just trying to avoid problems.  I'm glad I did it cause the hose tore from wiggling the get the hose out.   It's a 1999 standard with around  150,000 miles on it.  
 When I replaced the radiator hoses I found a soft spot on the upper hose.  It's stored inside but time will takes a toll on things.
 Have to keep running or buy a new one.

I checked mine, it looked and felt fine. Maybe living in climate control helps
