I noticed this in Britmans post about the best road in your state.
I responded to a post and as soon as I hit the post button, the post I responded to, disappeared.
I went to the profile of the poster and it was still there. I didn't ask if he deleted it, can't see why he would.
His post was the last one on the second page, mine being the first in the third page, don't know if that matters.

I was going to make one of my own dissapear and was told I could not do it. So I said ok. Not to take away from your post but on Craig's list anybody can make you dissapear. Had trouble posting some brass classes for sale till I kept reposting and in inventive ways.

If you have a tendency to express yourself as a disrespectful asshole you may occasionally find your posts removed. Incidentally, there are very few posts deleted. When it happens it will be the result of a very egregious expression. |

I can understand some posts being deleted. The ones of mine just recently that have disappeared were not controversial at all so I was kinda surprised at that. I was just wondering about it. I was also surprised that we can no longer delete a post. But, thats fine I guess.

We've always been able to delete reply messages, but not new topic messages. I'll see if I can delete this one. Okay, I just deleted this post successfully, and now have re-created it. |

We've always been able to delete reply messages, but not new topic messages. I'll see if I can delete this one. Okay, I just deleted this post successfully, and now have re-created it. You can't delete your own post after it has been replied to. You can delete your own post if no one has replied to it. |

I think, perhaps, with the board slowing down to a crawl here and there, that your (non offensive) deleted posts may just have never gotten posted in the first place. Unless you went right back and checked to see that it was (I do that). I have done half a reply, stopped to do something else, then returned and finished it, and it would not post at all. I have also gone back to edit my post of earlier in the day, the forum is going really slow, and my edit doesn't take, or maybe the post disappears.
It may be the forum slowing down that is the trouble.

It may have simply been included in a string of quotes. When I delete a post I will also delete any post that quotes the deleted post. That you insist that it is the opinion expressed that gets your posts deletes says that either you aren't paying attention or it says something about how little you know of the human mind and human behavior. Incidentally we may not have the same view of what is disrespectful or "asshole-like". Just so you know I delete posts with which I agree on the content but find the delivery disrespectful. |

That could be, or, what Willow said. But I probably didn't have much to contribute anyway. I didn't think too much of it, but, just got to wondering when it appeared that more than one had vanished. They may well have not posted in the first place. Guess I didn't think of that. |
