Tuesday I went in for a follow-up with my dermatologist on some  (5) spots biopsied  2 months ago on my face. I came out with 60 stitches combined in 2 places on my left side. I WAITED too long to have the spots cked.

I wish I could post pics, it "ain't" purdy! Removal is also painful. If you have places that look "hinky" get them checked! So, sunscreen is the gig. Doc said way too much time in the sun unprotected. They got it all but had to go deep and wide. I can think of better things to do like ride. It's 70 here today and I can't ride, sucks.

Years ago, I had two chunks removed, neck and forearm (MOHS).

The forearm one went clear to the muscle.  Post op, I could carry a golf ball in the divot.

I have been greasing up exposed areas and wearing boonie hats ever since.

I keep an eye on my skin.  Nothing looks bad (red and weeping or plastic looking, not brown so much), but the age spots are taking over all over the place.  I look just like my dad now (except he had more hair).

Since I was born a redhead,, I am all too familiar with all this. I get YEARLY skin exams and so far have had about 10 spots removed, thankfully all small. Just had one last week removed behind my ear. It aint fun,, but then not doing it is way less fun.

Same here. I had one removed from the tip of my left ear, another from the back of my right ear, and a bigger one removed from my left temple. All were caught early, no scars.
Lots of sun before sunscreens came around.

Lost a good piece of my nose and ear to basil cell and have had several spots removed. Deep MOHS on your face is not fun. Wear that sunscreen guys and gals.

I agree with all said above.   I have had one spot of upper left arm removed.  Also have had several secession with a cream called Ketoconazole, that kills pre-cancer cells.  Last time my arms looked pretty bad, not fit to be seen in polite society.

Used that sun block, and cover up.  don't go out in mid day uncovered, hat and long sleeves.  Paying for a youth where I used to life guard and go with out a shirt most of the time.  Had my first sunburn in March and stay red till fall.  Also, though not a redhead, I did have blonde hair.  Hard to tell that now, most of hair is gone and the remaining is grey.

I did the cream prior to the Mohs I just had done. Contains chemo to kill cancer cells. That was on the right side of my face. All is good there now. Name of the cream I used was Fluorouracil.  It does what it's supposed to but left some nasty scarring.

Keep that spf on! 20 years ago I had a melanoma removed from my side. Of course my Dermatologist and I have become best friends. I did a 2 year trial after the removal and so far so good. I did try the chemical peel for the precancerous scalp treatment but hated it. yesterday I got the Blu Light treatment on my scalp and I like it much better! the one draw back is yesterday it was 80 degrees in Northern Ind but you can not have any sun exposure for 48 hrs! so the Interstate sits in the garage while I'm in the house with the blinds drawn.

I've got to have the chemical peel toward fall. I told him "Don't even think of screwing up my bow season"! Grin

We could start a club. I'm going Monday to have a spot removed on my back and I'm using the cream on my face now. Fortunately I was never handsome so not great loss there.
