One of the greatest horror novels of my generation being re-made

If any of you subjected your children to the mini series of "IT" back in the 80s  from Stephen Kings novel it's finally being remade coming in September.

My parents were kind enough to give me a fear of clowns at a very young age. I suggest you do the same for your children and or grandchildren

I remember reading that book when it came out, but heck if I can remember the story.

Might have to see if I can find the paperback and dust it off.

I read all of King's books back in the day.

IMHO, "The Stand" was his best.  That one, I remember.

I remember reading that book when it came out, but heck if I can remember the story.

The Stand was the best. I can remember every minute of reading it in my Navy bunk at night. 100 snoring dudes and 1 freaked out 20 year old with his bunk light on reading for 3 nights straight. I don't read much at all these days, but I devoured every Stephen King and John Steinbeck book I could get ahold of back then.

Stephen King would scare the snot outa ya and yet ya kept comin back fer more!  When I was still criss crossin this country in an 18 wheeler spent my meal time readin and a bit of my sleepin time readin. Stephen King and W E B Griffin right at the top of MY reading list(s). RIDE SAFE.

The Stand was his best, in my opinion. I've read it at least seven times. I was a bit disappointed in the 'made for tv' movie. I felt it could have been a bit darker....

My first read was Salem's Lot. That book scared the snot out of me.....

I think I've read every one of his books, especially the earlier stuff.

The Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile were good films I thought. I never red the Shawshank, but I thought the Green Mile film was better than the novel, IMO

It's really amazing how many stories - books he has wrote. I think Baldo's handle photo "The Shining" was a Stephen King novel also. I've never red the book and couldn't understand the movie when I watched it probably 20 year ago.

Oh "The Shining" is classic. A must read.

Yes it is and you should read the book, it's much better than the movie, which was pretty good with crazy Nickelson basically playing himself.

King also wrote "The Body" which was the base for the movie "Stand By Me" about four teenagers and a body.  He also wrote "The Running Man" under the name of Richard Bachman that was made into the movie starring Arnie.

Although in elite literary circles he is snuffed at, he is one of my best enjoyed writers.

There were 5 "Bachman" books.  He claimed he wrote them to see if he could actually write or if his fame was selling his later books.  I own almost all of his books, but Shawshank and Green Mile are the only movies I've seen.  Generally, if I have read the book, I avoid the movie.  I keep looking for things that don't happen.  I have heard that they are considering making a movie of the first of the Dark Tower Saga: The Gunslinger.  The books were good, but I'll have to see how they adapt for a movie.

including book 4.5 The Wind Through the Keyhole.

All the voices in his head make appearances throughout the series.

IT looks pretty scary involving clowns.  I like scary movies but am the only one in my family who will watch them.  Children of the Corn (the original) way back when very young and freddy and jason come to mind as well when very young. 

My daughter in college now saw at the top of the stairs at night in college this year a guy dressed in a scary clown outfit sneering down at her from afar.  Needless to say,  she is for sure terrified of clowns and briskly walked the other way.  I hear college campus police caught the guy doing it at night mostly scaring young women and not sure if he got kicked out of school or not since was on campus and dozens of incidents at night. 

Not as bad though as that youtube video of guys dressed in a white sheet (like a muslim) and running up behind someone dropping a duffle bag and running away quickly scaring others who run away from the bag thinking it is a bomb.

I've seen many videos of the idiot dressed like a Muslim doing the fake duffle bag bomb. I always figured he would be on the news to getting shot pulling that prank on the wrong person....

I M H O one of the worst adaptations of book to movie was Maximum Overdrive. The Book was Scary the movie adaptation laughable at best.  The dark tower series when I read it was NOT being published fast enough!  RIDE SAFE.
