went to wally world looking for Sea foam--I talked to an assistant-he said they were out  but he said this stuff was much better--my wife's infrequently ridden VTX1300r has had carb issues since we bought it at the end of it's year cycle--this stuff worked like magic  "Royal Purple Max Clean cleaner and stabilizer" cooldude

How much was it?

I used Sea foam when I first started riding again, back in 07'. Then the more I read and learned from forums, there where a LOT better ones out there. It's almost like oil, people swear by them. Marvel's, Techron, B12, Sea Foam, Wynn's, etc, etc...

The B12 is what I use ($4 USD), can't get it in Canada, no ones even heard of it, but that in my fresh tank each year, and I haven't had any trouble since. Techron recommended, I now buy Chevron fuel when I can, why pay more to add something I can get at the same pump price.

dealer recommended on my 2014 hyundai sonata to get a fuel treatment cleaning at ONLY 36K miles is all on the car in 3 years for well over 60 bucks from them.  I said I have some techron fuel treatment to put in my near full tank of gas and they said that should work.  It was NOT running rough or bad mileage or anything, but put in today 1/2 the can of techron fuel treatment to a near full tank of gas since it said you could put in a full techron bottle for 20 gallons vs. I had probably 14 gallons in the tank, close enough adding 1/2 the can of techron I had left.   That stuff is not cheap if I added the whole full bottle and I have one bottle left to use up next year in my SUV and cycles.  In the cycles I use sparingly 1-2 ounces is all do not want to over-do it.

I once added guessing 1-2 ounces of seafoam in my push lawnmower full tank of gas and could not get the darn thing running afterwards and I know before it ran fine.  Sometimes TOO MUCH is WORSE than NOT enough is my opinion.

Thanks for the tip on the royal purple stuff since my 2-3 year old bottle of normal stabilizer is about gone as it should be having 2 mowers,  2 atvs, 3 cycles, and 3 vehicles.   I know in the last few years better products than regular stabilzer is out there and I think Startron (or was it Starbrite???) is  suppose to better now as well than normal stabilizer.

ALSO,  autozone use to have online coupons for say 5-10 bucks off your ONLINE purchase and can pick it up in store.  So, I used it on a gallon jug of seafoam a few years ago and still have 1/2 the gallon left.

QUESTION: DOES SEAFOAM EVER GO BAD AFTER SAY 3-5 YEARS SINCE I KNOW NORMAL STABILIZER DOES GO BAD AFTER A FEW YEARS?????

RP is an overpriced product with low amounts of PEA cleaners. Gumout Regane sold at walmart is better priced with a higher concentration than RP. Purple dye is expensive. I've been posting about PEA cleaners for a few yrs now, zero responses.

Well, I'd like to be the first to change that and thank you for the links. I read them and am glad they confirmed Techron is a good product wih a decent PEA concentration. We've got just under 36k on the wife's Subaru Forester and I've got just over 12k on my F6b so I might just use these good round numbers to treat both.

or just try to use only TOP TIER gas on your area.

PEA and TT meet the standards.

even with so called top tier gas stations,  I think is a good idea to put fuel treatment in vehicles from time to time.  I do not over do it ever though and not like I put in even a 1/2 of a can of techron fuel treatment in my Valk, but 3-4 ounces to a full tank once a year or so will do it good am sure.

I do have though 1/2 a gallon of seafoam to start using up more so though since is 3 years old I think now and not so sure 6-7 years sitting in my basement will be pushing it for useful shelf life, not sure on that?  I know if standard red fuel stabilizer sits for more than say 2 years, it can go bad and gets particles floating around in there have to throw away then.  I never buy a HUGE bottle of standard stabilizer simply because of that reason of useful shelf life is not more than 2-3 years.

For a cleaner Techron is superior to Sea Foam although SeaFoam is a good maintence type of additive

As for gas stabilization and storage PriD works really well. I have had some gas for 6 years and still burns and smells fine with no deposits. Hard to believe but I proved it.

I'll stick with Sea Foam or Berryman's , they never let me down.  I guess I'm a creature of habit. I think I will go off years of experience and what has worked for me. To each his own.. cooldude

Good to know there are other products that work but .....if ain't broke ......... Seafoam all the way no need to change!
I'd even drive to a different store to get it if they were out where I usually but it.

I always keep at least two cans on the shelf in my garage.
