I called my insurance agent today to get a quote for my bike. I've defaulted to Progressive in the past and have found their rates reasonable at $215 per year, comp and collision. My agent just got back to me and told me that through a company called Safeco, it would only be $118 annually. That's full coverage, $3000 for additional add-ons, and $500 deductible. Does anyone have experience with Safeco? That seems way cheap, but this is through an agent I use for all my other insurances--house, cars, truck, camper, etc.

go for it, have heard of them but never got a quote from them.  If it saves you 100 bucks per year, I would switch regardless of the company.  You can research their rating online if you want but guessing they are fine.

I switch vehicle insurance if the rates go up say over 10% for NO reason.  When paying near 1000 bucks  every 6 months for 3 vehicles (2 teenage drivers), every 100 bucks matters.   Angry

As long as you don't plan on using it.

Friend was in a multiple fatality accident in east Tx a month ago ( not his fault ).
Safeco is doing everything they can not to pay anything toward his expenses.

Long detailed story but I think I'd rather remarry my ex wife than use these folks.

if it is in writing they may stall but they gotta pay. a court case would cost away more than just paying.

Pretty much the same for all insurance companies.

I will be the judge of that, got any naughty pics of the ex??  Just kidding. Roll Eyes

I would highly consider switching if you do not use your insurance much ever at all like I never have done in my life.  Keep switching and then stay with an insurance company until they prove otherwise by jacking you around increasing your premiums for NO fault of your own.   I can deal with 3-5% yearly increases tops, but much over that I keep switching and never have seen any yearly premiums drop EVER after being with any insurance company even if with them for 10 years way back when decades ago.

Pretty sad, but none are loyal to you so why be loyal to them.  The days of loyalty with any company is few and far between.  Have seen several people I know in their late 50s or even say 3-6 months prior to retirement age 65/67ish who were let go by their company after decades of the daily grind and insurance companies are no different.  It is YOUR money, MAKE them EARN it first.

I decided to take the offer based on my agent's recommendation. As soon as I got the bill the premium went from $118 to $164. She said they quoted a Standard and not an I/S. Hopefully I'll never need to deal with them.
