Dad and I took advantage of harbor freights sale this weekend and bought us a lift table. He also ordered a digisync from bons. We are now working on clearing all of the stuff he has hordered over the last 10 years out of his garage. Hopefully in a couple weeks we will have work benches built and everything else cleared out of the way. Might even throw a wrench party this fall for rear end maintaince and carb syncs and anything else small you might want to do.

Dumpster... Roll Eyes..it's always good to have a nice place to work. Makes a project go much easier. Good luck getting things around.  I'd  be in for a wrench party in your neck oF the woods.

I bought a Harbor Freight table like 3 years ago. I did a couple of projects on it with the Valkyrie. Then I put my dad's old 85 Aspencade on it and there it has been for a couple years. Roll Eyes  Anyone interested in  project 1200 Gold Wing? Runs just needs some TLC. Rubber parts dry rotted like shock bots etc... I repaired a connection from the rectifier and replaced the pulse generators to get her running, but have had little motivation to finish her up. So there she sit occupying my table lift. Roll Eyes

You'll want a different wheel chock for the front wheel. The one that is supplied with the lift is pretty useless.

We did buy a different wheel chock  cooldude  still have a bunch of cleaning to do in the shop but it is getting there. We had 2 huge fires going with just old wood he has collected over the years of running his own business. Dad also has an old 84 or 85 goldwing interstate that runs but has problems. It would never idle down and the brakes were messed up from sitting for years. Once we get thegarage cleaned up I think that will be our first project on the table.

Not sure if that year GW same as 98 standard carbs. But had that issue and it was a few cracked / dry rotted air lines coming off the air cut valves on the carbs. Changed all of them and idled fine after that. Cheap fix. Just a few feet of 7mm hose.

I bought a HF lift almost ten years ago when I had a 1800 wing, I also put a HF wheel chock on it.
I park my Valk on it all the time, I don't loose any floor space that way, I just ride on and step off.
I seldom tie it down and it spends a lot of nights up in the air.

I have another one of these chocks that I bolt to the floor and put the back wheel in it, I can jack up the front while the bike is straight up and down.
I had to use a bottle jack to spread the chock open some so the rear tire would fit in it.

That chock has been bent several times to accommodate different bikes I owned, plus these are really good lifts. I have lifted over 1000 pounds with it many times and 100's of lifts.
When that chock fits good you would have a hard time even knocking the bike off.
Be sure and locate that chock as far forward as you can

Price? really cheap.  Roll Eyes I just need my space back and have reconciled the fact I just will never get to it. I do have all the plastic removed if that still interests you. I have it all. I

I have a jack from harbor Freight that I jack up via the engine but always wondered about these. How do you do a rear end service with it? Just put a small jack on the swing arm and then take it up? I have built a adaptor from wood that works great on that part.

Use one of these to lift the bike and then strap it to the table:

Like 3fan says, and they have a drop platform in the back. You only have to lift it off the table an inch.

I've been saying for awhile I want to get a table. Now I have to. This crouching is killing my back. Next time they run them on sale it's mine.  Smiley

When I bought mine it was on sale for $299.00

It's definitely a back saver.

I can sympathize with you all too well about a bad back.

still need to pick up those little scissor jacks. one with the little ears on each side to catch the front crash bar to lift the front and another with a flat platform to lift the rear. this will make it much easier working on the bikes. No more laying on the floor and teaching my kids new words.  Lips Sealed

The $279 must be a Member's Club price.

For an annual fee you can get coupons  that the general public don't see.

I went into Harbor Freight last week to buy an aluminum jack last week that was on sale for $79.

When I got in line some guy handed me a coupon that had it for $59.

That's one thing that I don't like about HF, everything in the store has multiple prices.

Before you buy new, check local craigslist. That's where I got mine for $100. Works perfectly.

I see them come up there from time to time.
