C O P D and allergies. The mold and oak have been high here last couple of days. Cut the grass yesterday and even with an oxygen cylinder on my back my nostrils were drippy fer lack of a better description. NEVER in my life prior to the last few years have I had or suffered from allergies. Who ever gave it to me can come over NOW and pick em up-the allergies. Wish I were done with em. My C-pap machine is hooked and supplies the air thru my nostrils. Since I received my C-pap I've been sleeping rather soundly-til last night and this early A M. Woke up 3 or 4 times so plugged up even With the C-pap supplying pressurized air it was difficult to breathe. The Root cause of my problem(s) is of course the FACT I did not lay my cigarettes down soon enough. If you are STILL smoking-damn it to hell-QUIT. And if you have Never smoked-keep it that way. Folks-this old fart is NOT complaining. Consider this more of a public service message. The TRULY sad part-this whole worthless mess I am dealing with now was and remains-self inflicted.  uglystupid2 YUPPERS-did it to myself!  crazy2 Now how asinine is that?  tickedoff I used to smoke Marlboro's and if memory serves the Marlboro man of T V fame or infamy was I believe taken out by lung cancer do to smoking. BUT if you insist on continuing to smoke and you Actually WANT All the fun stuff that WILL result from smoking-tooth loss cancer C O P D high blood pressure and other fun stuff-Please continue to kill yerself. BUT on the other hand REMEMBER that on 20 April 2017 Dennis H. Patterson A K A old2soon DID in FACT warn you. RIDE SAFE.

I wish your non smoking message would have worked 30 years ago on my 2 dead aunts and 2 dead uncles all due to smoking with lungs giving out way too soon in their 50s and 60s.  I have another one with lung cancer going to die am sure in next 1 year or so.  Stubborn and awnry side of that family for sure all 11, now about 7 left, of them.

I am in bad enough shape being well over 80lbs. overweight but if was even 50 lbs. lighter would make a difference.  doubt I will ever see 200lbs. ever again, but 230 is do-able I hope?

If I ever smoked (not dumb enough to start it),  I would probably be in 2xs worse shape than I am now.

OTS-When I had bad allergies with my CPAP, I was miserable until I got a full face mask. If my nose plugs up, I breathe through my mouth. It works with my full beard just fine. I have been on an 'allergy cure' shot process for the past three years, and the difference is amazing.

Oh, by the way-Sleeping pills and laxatives don't go together either. 2funny

I've suffered with allergies my entire life, 24 - 7. This time of year particularly sucks until all this spring blooming is done. Mowing just tears me up. I mow about 2.5 acres. I have inhalers that I use as well. As for any allergy pill, (OTC OR PRESCRIPTION) they have worn out their welcome. I've taken them too long.

I do take a Depomethodrawl shot early spring.  Sometimes it isn't much help either. There are people that make "jest" of people with chronic or even seasonal allergies. Oh, you people and your allergies.  Roll Eyes I say this to those people. I will trade you non allergy people for one week. At the end of that one week tell me how you like not being able to breath and have a constant headache. It's like having a cold 24 -7.  It's not a laughing matter. You learn to dealt with it.

Cookie 200 is doable Nd not that hard it is called will power. I lost over 75 lbs and didn't do anything other than portion rationing and NO bread or red meat for about 6 months. I am still losing not hard at all.

Hooter , what worked for me after going down a similar (not as bad) road was alfalfa tablets. I tried otc and prescription and shots. Pure alfalfa can be gotten from Shaklee Products (do not know if still in business) or check (on line) health food stores. The only other ingredient is a gel binder. I still keep them on hand but can't remember the last time I used them. They built up an immunity for me. I had some eye irritation the other day (days) but did not think about taking until I read this post. I had no known side effects. Just my input. If you try or need more info , contact me.

For the guys with allergies, give locally grown and harvested raw honey a try. Around March 1st, take 2 tbls per day. Morning and evening, straight up or diluted with a little (1/2 cup) water. Continue through until your 1st good hard frost. Myself as well as friends and family have enjoyed great results.
I have experienced the loss of numerous loved ones to "the habit". It shocks me when I count them up, 8 loved ones within immediate family. Both my parents side as well ours. Good luck to the ones dealing with the results of it as well as the ones trying to quit.

pais , thank you. I  forgot about the raw local honey. I too have used it. Non-addictive and better for you.  As pais said ,  L O C A L  raw honey. Better than drugs and cheaper.

Friday-21 April I went over to the M F A store-like a farmers Co-op-and got some raw honey and started taking it immediately. NOT an over night cure BUT it IS helping. Some of my allergy symptoms ARE being alleviated. After ALL the rain we had-it quit last night right after I went to bed around midnight-got up to a wonderful clear blue sky a scary light in the sky I ain't seen fer awhile-the sun-and that cursed yellow haze-pollen-wuz all over my cage and showed thick on my windshield. BUT Even with all that pollen I AM breathing a lot better and the ONLY thing that's changed is the addition of the local raw honey to my diet!  cooldude So thanks for the Raw Honey suggestion pais cuz I'm here to let Y'all KNOW-it do WORK!!  coolsmiley RIDE SAFE.
