Before anybody worries, the Valk bobber is Ok!
This concerns the '17 Super Duke GT. I may be jumping the gun but they have not made a decision to total it, or if they have, I have not been notified because the estimate was just finished late yesterday afternoon. The frame is not involved. And none of my farkles either. In Arizona if the cost of repairs + Salvage Value exceeds Actual Cash Value then it is a total. I can not find used values because it is so new. If they decide to fix it, do I have any recourse to argue for a total loss?
Thanks for you thoughts

This is where a good insurance agent comes into play. If repaired , will the bike be listed and insured as new or salvage. If salvage ,I would recommend N O. You bought a new bike. Salvage value on a new bike , N O . Some times you have to use a diplomatic argument. (pull them across the desk and slam their face ) Try to reason as to why a salvage title will devalue the bike. Try to be sure that the adjuster from the insurance company is a qualified (past experience on my part) motorcycle person. "I just completed an in depth 20 minute training course on motorcycles".

I am pretty sure that if it gets fixed the title status should remain the same...if it is a salvage of any kind I will refuse and probably have to get an attorney...but I hope I dont have to do that. Big ticket items were the saddle bags, swing arm and fuel tank.

In most, if not all, states a salvage indicates that a vehicle was totaled by an insurance company and then sold to someone to be rebuilt or parted.
You are the customer. You do have the option to argue whatever is offered. Ultimately the insurance company will want to come to an agreement with you but if you push to hard and too long they can choose their option to simply do what their interpretation of the policy (contract) indicates. Even on the amount offered if totaled you have the option to argue rather than accepting.

Willow +1, Plan on treading lightly. Will be stopping by the repairing dealer on the way home from the pre-op stuff... My local agent is great and the agnt assigned the case has been cool so far. A check for my helmet, gloves, and boots has already been settled and a check is on the way

good luck, most insurance companies should do what the customer wants if in question or any doubt on value of repairs needed, IMO.
yah, I would not accept salvage title for sure either way. I would think as said if fixed would be normal title still. your bike, your money, insurance companies need to make it right with YOU.

Be a bit careful on partial payments (cashing that check).
Sometimes accepting a partial payment (cashing it) can be viewed as accepting whatever they finally offer.
You might want to sit on the check for a while, until all is resolved to your satisfaction.
With no bent frame or other damage making it a less than a new bike, I don't see taking money to make it like new with bolt-on parts replacement being a bad deal. Of course, no one want's a salvage title. Although these on-line title check services (Car Fax?) can reveal a big accident claim that can make resale a bit more difficult to get your price.
I have once or twice got full and best payment (from the other guy's insurance, not my own), then made a side deal with the repair outfit, to use the money a bit differently than was intended in the estimate. IE, cut a couple corners on things I don't care about so much, and get something I want more. Once settlement is made, how you spend it is your business.

They fixed my bike bent frame and all. Dealer said it was a definite total but the moron from progrestive fixed it. Rear wheel was touching the transmission. The only thing off the original bike used was the motor and Transmission. There was only $1000.00 difference between blue book and fix price according to the adjuster. Adjuster wanted me to accept the bike after it was fixed. I told him to stick it.
