good info - thanks,  both the 03 accord and 07 civic have the chain, but the 3.0L V6 camry has belt - good to know.

Darn rain tomorrow,  my luck that 2007 honda civic for 4.1K will be gone.  Not a fan of riding cycle in the rain.

Yah, heard about 2002 and under sludge buildup in toyota vehicles supposedly helped fix with new design in 2003.  I think most of that sludge buildup is due to not proper oil changes being done on time as recommended.

And probably Conventional oil instead of recommended synthetic...

VOlkswagon (since late 1998 ) has receommended only synthetic oil in the cars , in some cases it raises its head as a sludging issue, on others - the turbocharger is really a heat producer ( which does oil no good) - in both cases, using a proper weight synthetic takes care of the issue. Also the 0w20 oil that many manufactueres are using now is for FUEL ECONOMY - not that it is good for protecting the engine.

a lot of newer vehicles like you said are going 0w-20 for better/quicker startup circulating oil quicker.  As far as I know,  all 0w-20 oil is all fully synthetic.   I think around 2009 or so the new Toyota tundras went 0w-20 full synthetic being near 8 qts. of oil.  NOT cheap, although last few years have seen full synthetic oil on sale for darn near the full retail price of regular conventional oil say 3-4 bucks per qt. on sale.
