Will Not Crank

Issues started when I took bike apart to fix petcock and replace the broken middle plastic piece that secures the side pieces. When I put it back together, this is what is happening:

Issue
When Valkyrie ignition is on:
All lights work (headlight, brake, turn signals & indicator)
When the start button is pushed, lights dim/go off but nothing else happens (no noise at relay or starter)

What I have tried:
Replaced starter relay, and connector (red one looked bad)
Tried new battery
Cleaned starter and kill switch
Replaced the starter and kill switch with brand new OEM part.
Checked kickstand switch
Used tester to check fuses and continuity at pretty much everywhere I can think of.


When we were replacing the starter relay and connector, apparently the wires got crossed by accident or came in contact with something because Starter did come on for a few seconds.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Somebody with more experience can give you better advice but I'd say take all the spark plugs out and try cranking the motor.  Do it someplace where gas spraying out the plug holes won't hurt anything, not in a garage.

In other words possible hydrolock.

If you removed the center cover to fix it, you might have put the tip over relay back on incorrectly.

that's my guess to. very easy to install it upside down. done it myself first time I went to put it back on the center cover.

I would like thank everyone for your help. It was the tilt switch. I figured it had to be something simple considering that it was running great before I installed the new centerpiece. I don't regret buying the new parts because the bike has almost 100,000 miles on it. However, I am relieved that yall saved me the embarrassment and cost of going to the Honda place. We were thinking about loading it up and taking it tomorrow.
