So went to bed last nite and was woken up to my wife saying I need to go to the ER. I jump out of bed drive her there. She was complaining of severe pain in her right side stomach area, get the hospital and I'm working. Praying she's gonna be ok. After tests were run found out her gall bladder needs removed she's got a really big gall stone. So until the surgery we have to change her diet. Just happy she's ok. I'd be lost without her. Sounds sappy, but my wife is my whole world, my best friend and my rock. Just yesterday we celebrated our 12 yr anniversary. Been with her for 14 yrs. anyways just needed to let that out. Just wanted to tell everyone to let those they love know how much they mean to you cause no one is promised tomorrow.

Not sappy at all, I feel exactly the same about my wife. Mine was removed for the same reason almost 20 years ago No ill effects post op at all with the exception of the normal things associated with surgery. Prayers for a full recovery!

I agree with not sappy at all, and I am so glad that all worked out ok. So many times we never truly appreciate the people around us and take them for granted. When you appreciate someone and tell them it can be bright spot in the day for them. Sometimes we can go along all is normal and in a spit second things can change. I will keep you guys in my prayers.

I'll disagree with a majority of posters here. It is definitely sappy. Sometimes it's good for us to be a bit sappy. Being overly concerned (or concerned at all) with not being sappy is a symptom of living an image driven life. That is not good for us. I'm glad they found the gall bladder issue early enough. I'm hoping she gets through the pain and correction soon. Prez, good catch but honestly we should each have a sole mate.

Eph 5:25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up His life for her Eph 5:26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God's word. Eph 5:27 He did this to present her to Himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. Eph 5:28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. Eph 5:29 No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. Eph 5:30 And we are members of his body. Eph 5:31 As the Scriptures say, "A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one." Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. Eph 5:33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
How can you love your wife like this and not be sappy? I surely would be sappy about a hand or arm if I had to remove it and live without it, a daunting task to say the least.
As one who has not always been good to his wife I can say I have a new appreciation of the union of man and woman. Your mate was not necessarily chosen by you only and may actually have been choosen for you by God. How do you think God will look at you if you cannot treat your wife with love and respect and of course correction when needed. We are the head of the household but in order to keep being the head we need to expand our understanding of what it truly means to be a man after Gods own heart, especially when it applies to those He puts around us.

OK, all you manly men, this is not sappy, what he said is simply sincere! Praying the surgery goes well. My soles are mated perfectly. But my soul can hardly wait until I go completely InZane!

Don't want to make light of the situation but gall bladder surgery is very simple nowadays. She'll be in and out in a few hours.

Yup gall bladder is a piece of cake nowadays. I've had it and my wife had it. A little pain but no side affects. The ER bill may hurt more depending on your ins.

Does anybody that has had their gall bladder removed have to stay on that bland diet or can my wife go back to eating red meats and such?

Seems to vary quite a bit. My wife has had hers removed and has had a very tough time with it. Constant issues no matter what she seems to eat. Others seem so do well. Hope yours is in the easy peasy group!

I'm sure everybody is different, but after mine was removed, I completely lost the desire for hamburgers because of the grease. They sit heavy on my stomach. Oddly enough though, I can eat a big greasy pizza no problem. At first, I couldn't stomach bacon or sausage for breakfast, but that went away after a while. Other than the hamburger thing, it really made no difference in my diet. -RP

A man staggers into an emergency room with two black eyes and a five iron wrapped tightly around his throat.
"I was having a quiet round of golf with my wife," he tells the doctor, "when she sliced her ball into a pasture of cows. We went to look for it, and I noticed one of the cows had something white in its rear end. I walked over and lifted up the tail, and sure enough, there was my wife's golf ball stuck right in the cow's butt. That's when I made my mistake."
"What did you do?" asks the doctor.
"Well, as I was standing there holding up the tail, I yelled to my wife, 'Hey, this looks like yours!'"

A doctor at our local schumk hospital said my Gall Bladder had to come out the old fashioned way. I remember folks having had that done. So, off to a real hospital I trotted. They snatched it right out and the doctor had to poke an extra hole in me to do it. But, as soon the anesthesia wore off ,and I peed, I went home and was able to do anything not strenuous. That was about 15 or so years ago. You never quite crap right again, but, thats it. My diet didn't change and I don't remember anyone saying that it did have to change. But, everyone seems to be a bit different.
