Does is really get much better than this, well let me tell you about it.

So, eating lunch and had a lady from another office ask about the green Honda in front of my office. I kindly told her it was mine, and we proceeded to discuss. She had seen it several times, and decided to ask her husband about it. Of course she couldn't remember the name, so she wrote it down and let him help her learn more. They realized what it was, he even had more questions, so I was happy to talk. It was then she had the chance to tell me about the local banker also asking, so she informed him about MY Valkyrie! So, I must admit I felt proud of owning such a magnificent machine.

Now it gets even better!

Setting at my desk, in my office surrounded by all windows, and suddenly someone pulled into the parking lot, got out and started snapping pictures of the Valkyrie using his phone. I didn't notice it until a coworker mentioned such, then all of us were staring at him, and the look on the Harley owners face, PRICELESS. As our bike set side x side, and he never took a second look at the Harley.

Oh how much I love this bike!

Yep, know what you mean. I've been tossing around the idea of an F6B....black with a few sparkles added. Then the next errand I happen to run on the bike, walk out of the store and stand back watching folk go over it from front to back. Like you, I've had it parked midst some HD's at times and guess which one gets all the pictures, especially when some young gal stands next to it while her guy takes a shot. Then I think.....F6B??   Naaawwww, this is too much fun!  Grin

John, I'm certainly not denying the attention a Valkyrie gets as I had a couple fairly nice looking black Interstates in my day and they were the object of many compliments.

But I will also say my Black F6b in the 19 months I've had it has also received a ton of compliments and thumbs up. I've had people pull up to me at traffic lights and get my attention thru their car/truck windows, etc and ask me what kind of bike it is. When I tell them it's an F6b, they follow it up with "It's beautiful" comments.

They are Russ  cooldude I haven't seen yours, but I know how you kept your 1500 looking. Every time I see Dennis's I like it. I think the reason a lot of people check them out is they are just so impressively different.

Thanks, Rob. I don't want to steal the thread and I don't recall whether I've posted any pics of the B on here or not...but I'll try not to make a habit of it.

Wiggy, I have to agree re. the B, they are a sharp looking ride. In my case with my age in mind, I wonder just how much longer I'll be able to ride. At present I don't have problems, but who knows how long that will last. I'm perfectly happy with my current ride and my youngest daughter wants it when I'm done with it. If I traded it, I'd be in big trouble.  Wink

No Russell...I got a good deal on a Mustang. It's nowhere as comfy as the Russell but it's not bad for the near future.

And John, you have a beautiful bIke as I've had the pleasure to see it-and you in person; I think it was in Asheville. No need to get rid of that beauty. It's served you well.

Me and my Valk at Freedom Rock

« Reply #8 on: April 25, 2017, 07:12:28 PM »

The F6Bs are a sharp looking bike. Had a great opportunity to test drive one a couple years back. Pretty impressive performance too. It's style, however, is more of a modern, futuristic look.

Our Fat Girls are now getting to be 20 years old or so. My 99 IS is 18 years old. Looks like maybe 5 years old. Over 60k on the clock. My former Valk was also a 99 but a Standard (oops, a Tourer) and is currently with my Daughter and Son in Law with over 100k on the clock. It looks like a 5 year old bike as well.
The styling is Classic and timeless. Even at 18 years old she still turns heads everywhere she goes.

I would like to see what the F6B's will look like in 20 years. My view is that it's styling will be dated kind of like an old 1100 gold wing. Still going strong but with a styling that will be a bit outdated. But having said that, if I were to consider another bike and no classic Valkyries were readily available, an F6B would be in the running for sure. Don't know if I could do a Gold Wing. Too many gizmos and coordinated pant suits.

Always fun when at our local bike night in Romeo, MI. It's your typical Harleyfest, except for a few metric veetwinkies, and of course our three or four Valks, including Aquamans sick custom, gleaming in the early evening sun, it always draws a crowd, and pretty soon there they are. All the Wild Hog wannabes checking out our Valks, pointing at the motors, and the car tires, and the bling on Mikes bike. Checking out the 6 into 6's, and then panning the crowd until they find the Valkyrie shirts or caps. Yep, always a good time.

And since you mentioned being in Michigan, I know Michael Terry's Valks could have won a few bike shows themselves! Beautiful paint jobs and lots of Bing was his trademark.

Yes, it was Asheville and I remember the meeting. Sadly, that was the last IZ I was able to attend, I can't leave my wife alone and nobody can(or will) stay with her long enough for me to attend. Hoping one of her kids will next year, if not....my youngest daughter said she would. As for the bike, thanks for the comments on the bike, it has served me well even though I don't get to ride as often as I want anymore....or as far. It will most likely be the last bike I own, I figure maybe another 5-6 yrs. will about be it due to age, but who knows. That puts me in the mid-80's and a lot of people are still riding then.  cooldude

John, if you are still able to ride into your 80s, I salute you! Heck, I salute you NOW! These bikes can be beasts to move around, backing out of parking spaces, etc. I think we can blame that Wayne guy(solo1) for setting a pretty high bar on how long one can ride----he's amazing in his own right. I hope you find a solution for your wife's care so that you can venture out to another Inzane.

Yah, if riding an 800lb. bike into your 80s, even 70s,  I salute you.  Most riders in late 60s/early 70s are giving up riding big heavy bikes on 2 wheels due to age and health.  Pretty sure if I make it to age 70,  2 wheels will be out as well.

Guys, these bikes are so well balanced it's not really a problem for me to handle it. I will say that with each passing year, the saddle seems to be a bit higher but I can still swing a leg over.  Wink  At 79, by far I'm not the oldest active rider in this august group. I remember when our mutual old friend RJ turned 80 and still looked forward to getting in the wind. I know he eventually triked his ride, so one time I had to kid him about it. Told him the only reason he did it was to up the load carrying capacity....then I patted my own waistline. He blamed it Red's cooking as I recall.  Grin  Strangely enough, last week when I took off on the bike to run some quick errands I surprised myself. At the end of our street is a sweeping 90 deg. turn and halfway through I suddenly heard this metal on pavement scraping(sp?) sound....I was dragging the left peg....again. Kinda smiled to myself, thinking "hmmm, gramps still got it."  2funny

Before I dumped her last august couple of the twistys I wuz working had numbers like 30  35  40 followed by the letters M P H or had the words speed limit above the numbers.  Roll Eyes First number on my speed showing instrument was a 6 and sometimes a 7. And once in awhile the pavement was trying to take my boot off the peg on one side or another. Wunder do the wind miss me as much as I miss her?  Embarrassed RIDE SAFE.
