Some "folks" believe/think/assume that Because they pay taxes and purchase their tags and have a drivers license they have a "right" to cruise in the left lane whenever they want no matter what. I believe the law in North America including Canada is stated Some what to the effect of you are supposed to yield the lane to faster traffic. Don't say nuttin bout the idjit in the left lane holding his spot cuz they doin the speed limit. Faster traffic closing on you 6/donkey/back side/rear end yield the lane! Simple. Again the jaundiced view of a retired over the road 18 wheeler driver. Most times I've seen that resulted in a ticket fer the dumb ass. The "person in the econo box got off too easy I M H O. RIDE SAFE.

So for the last few weeks, I have been driving a 2018 Corvette to and from work (it's part of my job). My employer has a RAT FINK line that you can use to report infractions of company policies. This morning I received an email from said site coordinator that on 4/12/17at about 0650 on I96 westbound, a black corvette with manufacturer plate !@#M&*( was reported for weaving in and out of lanes almost hitting other vehicles and traveling at speeds between 70 and 90 mph. It also said I was required to respond to the complaint.
I admitted I was in posession of the vehicle at that time and that on that road the PSL is 70mph and you will be run over if you are doing less than 75. A generally accepted speed of 80 mph will keep pace with most traffic on that road, but you will still be overtaken occasionally. I also stated that I felt the complaint was made by some one camped out in the left lane doing less than the general speed of the other vehicles on the road. I also said that when I drive, I am exceedingly aware of the traffic flow around me, and I change lanes frequently, especially if I happen to be in the left (of 3 or 4 lanes) and notice that I am impeding traffic in that lane. I always use my signals when changing lanes (most other drivers do not) and leave a generous distance between me and the vehicle in front of me.
They replied, thanking me for my response, and said that they realize there are usually 2 side to every story, that based on my response they doubted that I would be reported again, but if I am within the next 2 years, they would refer the matter to the company's traffic safety department for review.
So this afternoon I was assigned a 2018 Camaro LT4 10 speed to drive for the next couple of weeks. I must say the new 10 speed is very nice.
Traveling in the left lane and impeding traffic flow is probably one of the top causes of road rage. People that do it should receive stiff penalties.
Update: My bad, I got mixed up on the RPO codes, It was the LT4 (supercharged 6.2L) not LS1.

We can get notified of citizen complaints against our plate in VA. Years ago, I got one that (essentially) said I was observed being a general asshole, and that I should try to do better in the future (no action can be taken based on a Joe Citizen complaint). No reply was required or even allowed, otherwise I would have replied that I never made it past captain asshole.
