When I bought my Valk, the original horn had been replaced by an auto-parts store special. When that died (after I bought it)  - I replaced it with the same. After the 6-8 inches of rain we got Sunday-Tuesday - now that horn has bit the dust as well. I checked the wires going to the horn, and I'm getting 12 volts when I punch the button - but still no sound from the horn.

So the question is  - can I use another Honda OEM horn from a current model since it seems that '98 GL1500C OEM horns are all gone ? (Or prove me wrong)

TIA...

Sure, but you will find that just about any decent electric auto parts (or junk yard) auto replacement horn is cheaper and louder than any Honda meep meep roadrunner horn.

If you want loud, get a stebel (black or plastic chrome), but you have to do a relay and custom mount, somewhere.   I had two Stebels go out on me from sucking up too much rain and crud.  I never use a horn (except pedestrians), so I just went with a cheap auto parts car replacement horn.  In recent years, it has only ever been used to pass my annual inspections.

Probably as good as Honda (but no chrome ring).  Looks like it would bolt right up to the Valk OE location.

I've run two Stebels on mine with zero issues from rain, but I run air tool oil through them occasionally.
I have switched to Big BF quad horns and like them better.

Best horn for the Valk...if I could figure out a place to put them on the Super Duke GT, I surely would...

My auto air horns would occasionally get water infused but so far I've never had to replace them.

I believe I installed them back in 99 or 2000.

If you think you really want a stock horn, I still have the one from my 97. I also have a Nautilus Ear Canon Stebel horn that was once on my IS. Never had any failure with the Stebel. As mentioned you will want the relay set up with upgraded wiring which I happen to also have, also available at Amazon. You may already have the wiring/relay set up from when they did your auto horn.

Shoot me a PM if you think you might want to try any of the above.

Ok Jess - I'm going to try out your 2nd link - it's close to what I was looking for, and the price is right...

I went to the dual GL1800 horns. They come on ebay from time to time for a low price.

I need to add a relay, and use the OEM switch/wires as the trigger. I found a PO moved the horn into the fairing, and it wasn't working.

If you are looking for an inexpensive solution, I would suggest a pair of Dodge Caravan horns. Get them from the junk yard for $10 tops. A couple metal straps, bolts and nuts from the hardware store to mount on the underside, a relay, and some wire, and you got a really decent horn. I got this set up and have used it successfully in battle.

I got the horn on my Standard moved to the same place where the horn on the Interstate is: somewhere at the underside of the crashbar. So now it looks better and I can rest both my feet on the crashbar!
